Agree. The rest are more on road orientated, in the same league as OEM KUMHO Solus KL21.

Cooper AT3 vs Bridgestone D697 LT, which one has better edge, and is $430 pricy?

Re: Off Road 18"s

I paid $360 a corner for my General Grabber ATs, so I think $430 is a bit rich. I have no idea what a "good price" is for these specific tyres, however they have a good reputation and in tyres you'll find that commands a price increase not necessarily commensurate with the performance. It definitely decreases risk though...

As far as which of the two are better... well I'd say no one could really answer that definitively. Both have fans, and the discussion would continue until well after all the beer and firewood were gone. Either would be a respectable choice. Are the Goodyear made in Australia? That'd be the deciding factor for me if they were the last two on my shortlist. Otherwise, it's almost toss a coin from my perspective.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Off Road 18"s

I will choose between D697 LT and Cooper A/T3. Reading web reviews, both have good, bad and ugly. If rating is on par, then the decisive factor is pricing. I'll have to shop around more, not happy with $430.

Checking on Cooper's website, the rating for tread, traction and temperature is 560, A and B. But I can't find the rating for D697LT. anyone in the know?

Cheers

I'll pay them a visit. Is the one on Windsor road? Do you run Cooper AT3 on all four or just front? Did you have wheel alignment then? Thanks

Re: Off Road 18"s

Has anyone used Yokohama Geolandar ATS, and best price? It seems to have fairly good review.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Not available as an LT in any size as far as I'm aware, so quite different to the tyres on your shortlist.

Cheers,
Steve

That's fine. Cooper AT3 265/60R18 is passenger construction too. Any of three in the list meets my driving needs. It really boils down to price.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Ooops... my bad. I assumed Cooper would have had a decent sidewall on offer in the AT3. Have you looked at the Falken Wildpeak? Good pricing, and getting decent reports on the Grand.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks. Will add it to the list. It's loading index falls short compared to others.

John47 has them. He does a lot outback touring with a caravan. Not sure if he takes the off-road.
