Re: Off Road 18"s

I've got a 265/65/18 BFG on the steel spare too, and as you say, it fits fine except for the tubs. I also have an oem alloy spare with the same tyre on it, and it was that I was trying to fit to carry that around instead of the steel. Maybe I will look at storing the jack etc underneath, or where the tubs used to go as suggested.
I have just done a "6 wheel" rotation, after 15000 km through the Kimberley, so I now have the previous rears on the front, and the 2 previous new spares on the rear.
One thing that is interesting is that the low speed road noise was noticeably worse after the 4mm or so of wear, but went away when the rotational direction of the tyres was reversed.

Thanks Benno. Now that I've started looking around I've spotted 4 fourbies with the Hankook's over the last couple of days. Had a good chat to a guy in a ranger with a set today and he was wrapped with them having previously owned all the other flavours. I also liked the look of them, reminiscent of my existing Cooper AT3's.

Here's a photo of my OME mag and 265 cooper AT3 siting happily in the well, along with the tubs.

Sorry about the dark photo.

That's the way to do it, spot them on another car and bail up the owner. I did the same thing on fraser island when I saw a prado owner with the ST Maxx tyres on, a quick chat and I made up my mind.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Any one ordered tyres from tyrerack? I was quoted $1140 for 4X Firestone Destination A/T delivered to Sydney. Firestone Destination A/T's are #2 ranked A/T tyres on tyrerack website. I am trying to figure out if its worthwhile importing or just buy tyres local?

Spot on. I was sitting in my office and he pulled up right outside my window to take a call on the mobile, with the white writting on display I spotted them in two seconds flat and took off - I had to stand outside his car until he finished his call like some kinda stalker but once he realised what I wanted to talk about he was only to keen - us blokes are proud of our tyres!!

Re: Off Road 18"s

For those interested in the BFG AT TA's.... front tyre, rear tyre, clearance at the front and the spare on the steel rim, note tubs removed to fit it in, however enough space around the tyre to get stuff in.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Your car seems to have a lot of forward rake. I'm assuming non-Quadralift? Is the bar pulling the front down or have you fitted taller coils in the rear? Or am I seeing things?

No Quadralift, possibly the extra weight at the front. No changes to coils. Interestingly, just looking at some photos pre tyre change over and the car seems to sit flatter with the michelins on.
