Are there options for running 17inch wheels and tyres on my MY14 Overland

Regards Murray
Last time I was at Robe I saw cars of all types on the beach. So I gingerly crept onto the beach in my Commodore SV6 with stock tyres and pressures. No problems at all. I figure the limestone sand at Robe packs down harder than silica sand back home. There is no way one could do that on the east coast. However, guys have done Stockton Beach in their GCs with 20" wheels and OEM tyres aired down to around 18psi so I wouldn't think Robe would be a problem with the Jeep in stock trim aired down.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Guys anyone had issues getting the tyre off the groung with the std jack if u have lift and or bigger tyres. I know with my KJ it had a 2 inch lift and I need to carry a block of wood to go under the jack.

I didn't have any problems with 32 inch tyres, but with a lift might be a struggle. I take a block of wood with me anyway, incase its on a soft surface.

Have not fitted it yet waiting until I wear the original tyres out.

I've gone one better and take two blocks of wood. I'm not happy with the OEM jack. It has plenty of lift but isn't strong enough for regular use. I bought an el cheapo bottle jack. It doesn't have much reach. That's what the blocks are for. I'm thinking of getting a telescopic bottle jack but they are pricy.

Ahh, cool. Yep the scissor jack is pretty flimsy, and it takes up too much space in the spare wheel well. I was looking at getting a bottle jack from super cheap at some point.

I already have a super crap type bottle jack but I'm thinking of something like this Larzep Hydraulics > Hydraulic Bottle Jacks Technical Specifications

Purchased from these guys:-
Marathon Spares

He had imported some Rocky Road Stuff from the US for the WK2.

Mainly deals in old Jeeps but he imports direct from states himself.

The price was very reasonable not worth freighting myself.

Re: Off Road 18"s

A question (pretty sure I know the answer, just need confirmation).
I just dropped off my 18's to have some TPM's fitted so they work when I swap them from the 20's. The mechanic asked which valve goes on which tyre, so the system knows which tyre is flat. I told him it doesn't matter, the car works out and shows each tyres pressure. So there is no specific monitor for each wheel, is there?
He asked because he fitted some to a Prado last week and each monitor was labelled for an individual wheel, which would then not allow you to rotate the tyres, as this would give incorrect readings.
