All laredos do not have the same brakes. Hence, stock 17s on some laredos. I'm almost certain that the 8 cylinder models have the HD braking assemblies and the 6 cylinders have the standard braking assemblies. HD brake assemblies require 18s

I am guessing that he is refering to the models in Australia.

Not at all. USA all the way... Just do some researching on other threads. I own a 2011 Laredo (6 beater) that came with 17s. Just upgraded to 18s. The braking assemblies are slightly larger on the 8 cylinder engines.

Re: Off Road 18"s

This thread is under Export Grand Cherokee 2011+

"Just research" the standard equipment on our deliveries. No 17"s, among other standardisation between trim / engine / driveline levels.

Cheers,
Steve

since it is in the
export section my assumption was around aus spec vehicles which as I stated minimum of 18.

Mark,
Go somewhere else, get the wheels you want and enjoy them. Life is too short to worry about things that most likely will not happen and if it does, it's not the end of the world.

I think the tyre guy is confused, I've not heard of this being a problem before, looking at the vic roads regulations, they reference VSB14, which makes no mention of limitations on rim diameter, just width, and overall tyre diameter.

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa..._2011%20v3.pdf

That hasn't changed since 2011.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Another thing is the spare wheel on the GC is an 18 inch, is the tyre guy saying it is illegal to put the spare tyre on the car?
