Re: Off Road 18"s

Mate I'd call the wheels you have MY14 18"s to avoid confusion. The early 2013 18"s are a five spoke.

Cheers,
Steve

Were they LTs?
Those were my thoughts too. However, I understand the Geolanders do quite well over the dirt provided one remembers they are passenger tyres and stay away from conditions like in the Yokohama promo below.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Has anyone had any experience or want to add the 265/70/18 tire size to the OP?

Looking to run this on my vehicle but looking for additional thoughts before pulling the trigger.

Re: Off Road 18"s

I'm not able to edit the original post as it is past the time allowance for doing so.

At 6.84% increase they are definitely worth including in the discussion. Collate some candidates and I'll see if Scott will edit them in for us.

Cheers,
Steve

The only source I have of someone running this size is Zybane's Artic Build over in the Diesel forum. He is running them on an Aftermarket Jeep/Mopar wheel that is 7.5" wide. He stated he had only a small amount of rub on the fender liners at normal ride height and full lock. I just posted over on his thread for an update and verification that he has still not had any issues with this size at any ride height.

My only concern is I want to use the ORA 2 package wheels that are 8" wide. Concerned that will rub the upper joint on the suspension arm with being 0.5" wider and I have yet to find offset's on the wheels.

EDIT: By Candidates I realize now you mean different tire brands and not actual users. I know off the top of my head that there are 2: Nitto Trail Grappler and Toyo AT2. I will search to find some more.

By a quick online search here is what I see from 3 different vendors:
Nitto Trail Grappler
Toyo AT2
Cooper Discover AT3 - LT
General Grabber AT2 - LT
Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure - LT
Michelin LTX AT2 - LT
Falken Rocky Mount ATS
Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10
Yokohama Geolander AT-S
BFG All-Terrain KO2 - LT

Re: Off Road 18"s

OK... now which ones of these have an LT construction?

Back when I started the list, I don't think that there was much around with a "tough" carcass in this size... here in Australia anyway. Either that or I totally missed them!

Anyway, I reckon they'll be close to the knuckle on Jeep ORA wheels. Many of the aftermarket 18" rims here are around +45 instead of the original +56.4 and may be a better option... though the bigger diameter tyres may present problems with the wheels turned up front. Mine are real close as it is.

Keep us in the loop

I tweaked my list in the post above to show where I was able to find LT versions of the tires listed.

What size are you running? I figured by staying with an OEM 7.5-8" wheel and not going with a wider tire, just a taller tire than stock, things should be good other than some possible rubbing at full lock into the liners.

Re: Off Road 18"s

That's a good range... stuffed if I know how I missed them.

I have 275/65R18 with General Grabber ATs, and a standard set of 20"s. It's therefore hard to make comparisons of potential contact. I do suspect that Entry/Exit will be no-go... unless you keep your wheels straight!
