Re: Off Road 18"s

Yep... we can correct each other today Bob.

You're 100% right. I really meant the practical weight carrying ability in as much as being able to withstand something pushing at the sidewall. This diminishes as more load is carried by the tyre. The numbers on the sidewall really mean nothing once you're not on a perfect surface.

I don't know if anyone saw it on House Rules... I think last season... the swarthy bloke with the glamour partner bumped a kerb with a stock Navara tyre. I thought that it had just "burped" and lost pressure, but it split the thing wide open!

Cheers,
Steve

Anyone have these?

If I want more aggressive, they are saying the General Grabber AT2. Steve (barboots) you've got these right? How'd they go?
Stay away from the Nexen's. I have them on my Hilux and never again. Ive had problems with bulging side walls and they wont even entertain the idea its a fault with the tyre. Puncture incredibly easily, and i wouldn't class my off roading extreme. Its pretty much limited to farm driving. Id go back to Yokahams i had previously.

Thanks mate. I have heard of this happening also after some reading.

Are you sure you're referring to the Roadian AT Pro's though? I know the AT II's have had this issue.

I'm now heavily leaning towards the Hancooks, but I am worried they might be too aggressive.

Maybe an HT is what I should be looking for.. I dunno, I'm so confused now!

Re: Off Road 18"s

Choose a pattern which is appropriate for the last few kilometres of where you're going to go... not where you might go.

Maybe I should sell you my 20"s?

Choosing tyres is a miserable compromise you know that you'll regret at least once... whatever you buy.

Re: Off Road 18"s

OK mate... please leave this thread now. Talking about P rated tyres is pretty unsettling, but when you say HT the sick makes its way up into my mouth.
