Will try the 285x60r18 and if it doesn't fit will go narrower to 275x65r18, but they 285 looks way more agresive

Watching?

Yeah they're wearing well IMO, but my data is pretty shit because they have been on two cars and I occasionally (rarely) put the OE 20"s back on for "a while". Unfortunately I'm not the type who makes notes, but fortunately I'm not the type who pretends they did.

So at a stab they have probably done 15 to 20 thousand kays (rough, I know). From the start they went straight into hard service with a December trip from Perth to Exmouth stopping everywhere there and back. I've towed our 2.5T van to Kal and back, Esperance and back, Albany and back, Green Head and back, around the South West plus some other "weekender" jaunts. The current tyre position is the longest I've neglected them without rotating, which I prefer to do every 5kkms as the city driving can lead to irregular wear, which I'm starting to observe. They were never a "quiet" tyre and are just starting to get a bit louder... I must put the fronts on the back soon. That said they're not annoying and don't really whine or sing. The noise tends to be a roar, more like a window seat in a 747... and bear in mind we have some nice coarse bitumen over here. I really only notice the tyres up until 70km/h.

Grip is good in general (bad pun unintended) and wet weather braking is great. Fuel economy took a hit as expected both due to tread pattern and oversize. The carcass seems strong and the dirt grip is solid. I rarely hear any scrabble for traction when tooling about on munted up tracks.

I'll measure the tread depth and take a wear pic when I have the car out of the garage.

FWIW, I'd recommend the General Grabber AT2s for those who want loads of off road grip, without going to muds.

Cheers,
Steve

I agree with Barboots. If it's an aggressive look you are after, I suggest you shave your head and get some tats.

Re: Off Road 18"s

Belated pics of General Grabber AT2 following the use I described a few posts back. There are small signs of tearing in the corners of some of the outer blocks, however bear in mind many of my kays are done towing in the heat, or partially deflated on gravel. The wear is surprisingly even given I haven't rotated them for the last 12,000 kms... which I stress is quite important as the block to void ratio decreases. Rotating every 5kkms is my intention, but time for this kind of job is often borrowed for other stuff.

Tread range is currently from 9mm through to 12mm, with most measurements at about 11mm.

Cheers,
Steve

So I decided to get the Hankook Dynapro MT 275/65R18. Get them this Sat. The Bob Jane I'm getting them off is supplying me an extra alloy rim for $125 for the spare.

Did have my heart set on the Maxxis BigHorns but every owner I propped in the street said they had issues with punctured sidewalls.

Anyone know where I could get my hands on an extra TPMS valve by Sat?

Yes, good choice Bigskiddy.

Had them on my WH Grand. Awesome off road and surprisingly quiet on road for a MT.

Cheers, Craig

Hi Bigskiddy,
Try Murchisons in Brissie, they have them in their product line and sell them seperately for about $15 each if I remember correctly. They could airbag it to you if they have stock.

Re: Off Road 18"s

There's no sensor on those Guy... it's just the stem portion.

I have just checked this online and selected the correct year/make etc. and it shows not available for this model. Tried Laredo 14 & 13 no difference.
That is odd as I saved this sometime ago from this thread. ?? A number of guys saying how satisfied they were with the product and delivery.
Perhaps post a question to the ebay seller to clarify.
Hopefully not another bum steer.
Guy

I'm pretty sure they are the ones I bought from ebay. The part number is: 56029398AB
