Re: Our Overland has arrived in Fremantle!

Memory seats lol , I'm still trying to work out the one stick by the driving wheel, only found the volume button under the steering wheel last night. Would love to know if my Laredo Jet has memory seats let alone know how to use the feature.

Stick your swede in the users manual mate, that thing taught me lots over the last two days.

Love this car to bits!

How are you coping with the foot operated handbrake, Ticket & Chris? That and the single stalk on the steering wheel will be my biggest re-training challenges. I look forward to it though..

Re: Our Overland has arrived in Fremantle!

Left hand stalk was fine for indicators. All the other function's have taken some getting used to but not too hard.

The foot opertaed hand brake was hard at first but I seem to be getting in and putting my foot on it straight away now.

I jump in, put right foot on brakes, left foor release hand brake/foot brake and then move into reverse/drive. It's becoming second nature slowly.

I found entry/exit assist in the set-up menu the other night. Very cool having the steering wheel and set move out of your way... I'm not a big bloke either.

Foot pedal not to bad, indicators fine but it doesn't rain much here in WA so the jury's out on the indicator lol. Accelerator works fine got caught doing 120 down the freeway lol

Re: Our Overland has arrived in Fremantle!

You fellas will find that you only use the indicator part of the stalk.....once you set the auto wiper sensitivity - the wipers will work just when you want them to on their own.
In 9 months I've not had to use the rear wiper - the back window stays reasonably clean and if you are parking in reverse the camera comes into use.
Headlights turn on and off and dip themselves so no need to get involved there.
The cruise control is one function you need to get familiar with quickly - otherwise driving to the speed limit becomes an exercise in concentration, and could be expensive.

Re: Our Overland has arrived in Fremantle!

I love the cruise control and how it adjusts to traffic speed! Best idea going...

I couldn't have a car without it ever again. Just set it to 100km/h and the car does it's thing when coming up to slower cars, change lanes and it is so nice and progressive (no kick back and surge) back up 100.

Re: Our Overland has arrived in Fremantle!

Agree 100%, so old school and cheap!

I did see in the manual there is a fuse/relay???? for an "e-brake" Could this mean what I think it does???

I love the Discovery 4's electronic handbrake, shame Jeep didn't think of it... They though of nearly everthing else.

Nope, E-Brake in the GC refers to the Emergency Brake. We call it handbrake....or I suppose foot brake in this inst. I reckon you get used to the e-brake over time, and maybe a liitle old school, but I like the cable/ratchet design especially with 2.5 tonne of boat hanging off it on a steep ramp.
