Hi all, thanks to this forum and it's contributors, I have learned much about our next vehicle and the possibilities that it will open up for us. Imagine how much more I will know when the car is actually in the driveway!
Fortunately, after a seemingly interminable wait, the Tysla has docked in Fremantle and disgorged a multitude of Jeeps, among them only two were in Winter Chill and only one was an Overland. Quietly thrilled!
First pic shows the lineup of Jeeps experiencing the fresh (40 degrees C today) Western Australian environment.
Next one shows the first of only two Winter Chill vehicles, leading another line of Jeeps, still with their hood protection. First sighting!
Now to let the dealer do their thing (towbar, sidesteps, tinting). Hope it's not too long before we see it again...
Congrats.
It will be interesting to see if they apply the latest Navteq Mapping as well as the latest TSB navigation fix, and that fixes the routing issues that have irritated us.
Yes Allypally, I will be most interested to check out the navigation, especially since the TomTom has been promised to the other car. But even my TomTom with the latest updates has errors, showing some streets as divided roads, for example, thus enacting a route that approaches the destination from the left hand side of the road.
My Miniral Grey Overland CRD was also in that same lineup. Can't wait any longer, as I am sure you too! Congrats to you mate and good luck for many pleasurable years of driving you new JEEP.
To give you an idea ours arrived 14th dec and was delivered this Monday I also had side bars, tinted windows and tow bar fitted. Dealer was John Hughes vic park.
Not exactly. I told him that I would prefer a Wednesday afternoon though, when they stay open till late. He agreed and we have set a date for next week on the 23/01/2013. I am now exited to a indescribable degree. This will be my longest week ever! And what about yourself? Do you have a delivery date as yet?
No news yet, sadly. We have chosen our number plate but emails asking for a date have not been answered. Need to get some insurance quotes organized too.

Generally, all cars on a shipment will be released within a day or so of each other. Therefore, if other buyers have already received their GC, and you are getting no response from the dealer, I would suspect something is wrong. Maybe panel damage, or they found the car is not what was ordered.
I had the same issue, where the dealer discovered the wrong colour upholstery had been fitted. He was afraid to tell me. Was never available when I called, as he was frantically trying to source a replacement car.... as if I would not have known.
Call the dealer principal.
Had simular issue with mine
No damge just lazy staff and no degree of urgeny when you have already waited 6 months
Just typical don't care aditude i suspect
Don't hose down the anticipation too much Ally...........
Ours took 4 weeks from the boat arrival to delivery - it stayed with Prixcars in Brisbane for 3 weeks. No amount of jumping up and down could dislodge it - all sorts of stories from grass seeds to mud underneath.
When it arrived at the dealer they were so relieved that I had a phone call as the truck was rolling into their yard - we went straight to the dealer and checked it out as it came off the back.
Certainly hadn't been cleaned underneath or vacuumed for seeds. It was just Prixcars certification that held things up.
Took another week for the dealer to fit the towbar and other bits they do but made the delivery all that sweeter. (we didn't think so at the time though)
you know youre a car guy when you wont pick youre mother in law up at the airport, but youll gladly go down to the docks to watch them unload youre vehicle, just so you can catch a glimpse congrats
Yeah, seemed reasonable to me! The partner did look at me like I was mad, but she got dinner in Fremantle out of the trip, so she was happy.
Spoke to my salesperson and the car is due out of Prixcars today, they will need about a week at the dealers to fit the extras. So, fingers crossed, we should have the car in time for the Australia Day long weekend!
The dealership are struggling with about 100 cars that have recently arrived so there is a bit of a backlog.
Feel for you mate, we were lucky our CRD Overland arrived in Brisbane Wednesday last week, was at the dealership Friday and in our driveway Tuesday night this week.
To say we are happy with it is a HUGE understatement. It's still surprising us with things it can do, it's comfort, performance and all-round class.
We took it down to the Gold Coast for dinner that night we got it and it sat on 7.9l/100km's the whole way down and back. WOW!
With 350km's on the clock so far it's imnpossible to fault.. actually the seats are TOO adjustable and I just can't quite get that perfect spot stored in the memory seats as yet.
If I had to pick a favourite feature it'd have to be the active cruise control, that stuff is going to be hard to do without if we ever change cars again. Followed closely by the stereo, the noise it makes is crystal clear and powerfull enough to knock your fillings out... or maybe the CRD, or the Quadra-Lift II... it's all good really.
Memory seats lol , I'm still trying to work out the one stick by the driving wheel, only found the volume button under the steering wheel last night. Would love to know if my Laredo Jet has memory seats let alone know how to use the feature.
