Overheat oil and coolant

Hi all,
I have a 2015 grand Cherokee summit with about 26k on the clock,so far it's been a perfect car with no problems at all....until today
Was driving down the M1 to drop a friend at the Gold Coast airport and noticed that the coolant temperature was a bit over the normal position so I looked at the oil temperature and it was over 100c and climbing ,5 min later coolant temperature is near the top and oil is at 141c, so I pull over into a service station, by now alarms going off and limp mode activated so I turn the car off and open the hood,I don't see any smoke or leeks but I see the coolant tank looks empty so I buy some coolant and top it up, while topping it up I notice the fan going not so fast and after looking at the dash things start to look a bit better.
So get back on the road and 5min later it's all going crazy again so I just pull over again and call jeep assist.
The lady was nice and understanding and 30min later a toe truck arrive and we off to the dealership.
Told them what happened and they said the will look into it tomorrow because the really busy so left the dealership and went home.
Called jeep customer care and 3 hours later I had a loan car in my driveway.
I must say jeep assist and customer care done a good job looking after me so they deserve a good credit for that.
The mechanic at the dealership rings me and asks me to explain what happens because everything is fine and he can't see any problems !?!?
Really ?the car was in limp mode, doesn't it register somehow ???
So at the and I told him please do a pressure test to the radiator, check the water pump and coolant tank, also flush the system and refill with coolant, and change the oil( a bit worried that it got cooked at 140c+)
They going to do it tomorrow.
Not quite sure what to do if the say it's all good no problem , I mean the coolant got out somehow.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Overheat oil and coolant

Is it a diesel? I remember someone having a similar problem with overheating, no codes registered, but the dash all lit up and in limp. After a whole lot of stuffing around and specialist testing they found it was an EGR valve leak, but hard to know if yours is the same.

edit: Found the post: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Re: Overheat oil and coolant

Hmmm, mine did the same kinda thing, collapsed the waterpump bearings, lost the coolant, don't know how long I drove it like that for as the temp gauge never went over halfway....Funny, we were on the M1 as well, headed for sanctury cove, what wasn't so funny was a blown head gasket....$3k later, sorta fixed, never the same.... So beware folks, they can loose coolant boil their tits off and if you dont spot any steam you'll be none the wiser, we only noticed when we stopped at a set of lights, then scrolled the oil temp etc, a joke really....V8 petrol....Over my Jeep experience....and I used to love it
