Had a couple of limp mode events with no warning, so Jeep Aus decided to replace it.

Thanks, I think we would all like to know more:
  • What model year?
  • How many kms?
  • Driving style: city, country, sedate, brisk, burnouts or towing?
  • Engine oil?
  • Contaminated fuel?
  • Power mods?

  • What model year? MY2013, built Nov 2012
  • How many kms? First event about 15,000, then another at 16k
  • Driving style: city, country, sedate, brisk, burnouts or towing?
Combination: regular Newcastle to Sydney trips (monthly at least, so about 1.5 hours at 119 kmh) interspersed with 20 to 20 km local trips. Very limited towing, and too old for burnouts ( well mostly).
  • Engine oil? As supplied by Jeep/ Suttons
  • Contaminated fuel? NOT as far as I know - only use Castrol Vortex ultra diesel.
  • Power mods? Not yet.

Answers above.

Re: Product Safety Recalls Australia

Thanks Fatboy! I recommend that each time you come down to the big smoke you floor it up Ourimbah hill to burn the crap (carbon) out of the DPF.

Re: Product Safety Recalls Australia

Not heard of a MY13 suffering from DPF issues before. I thought it only effected the MY14 models.

My dealer tells me there have been a few MY13s to suffer the dreaded limp mode.

My car is certainly affected by this vanity wire recall. I entered the vin in owners web, guess what, it says no recall for this vin. So I would say that this web check is unreliable.
