Feel for you mate,

Could try taking it to DVG Maddington - they should be full bottle on everything to do with the Quadra-Lift after all the work they did finding out what was wrong with mine.

John Hughes had no bloody idea and were happy to just order and change parts - all of which not stocked in Aust

Seems the vast majority are useless, you have to keep hunting until you find someone who knows their stuff....

If only.

The poor girl is still in the hospital.

After three days of trying to get the gas!! it did turn up. Unfortunately I decided to go and sit on the doorstep today and she is still in bits. Having installed the new valve block, the computer is having an absolute field day. Apparently it is really having a hissy fit.

Consequently having been told 1600 today will all be good, I am now driving a shitty, underpowered (2.0l petrol), god awful patriot. If anyone is or knows someone who wants to but one DON'T!!!!!!!!. It's a piece of crap.

My review is:

Plastic.
Underpowered.
Gutless
Thirsty !!! (8.4 overall, 6.7 extra, 11.2 urban).
Uncomfortable.
Small!!!

Actually prefer the second car - Ford Focus.

Regards.

Adrian.

Mark.

Have currently got her with Mandurah Jeep. It's a 50/50 split between there and Freo for driving. Live near Rocky.

DVG in Freo appear to be more useless than most, dodgy excuses, lack of response, poor customer service.

I have written to them formally (as in paper and printer/pen) and have received an e-mail in return promising contact. That was on 09 Sept. Since then other than me chasing them and them promising, NOTHING!!!!.

Some may say that I am being rude, but when I sign a printed letter and send it to them I expect a written reply, not an e-mail starting with "Hello Adrian". My response thus started with Mr. XXXX. Their reply started with "Hello Adrian" Again I replied with "Mr XXXX". The final replay was "Very good Sir" but then nothing since. Does nobody get any communication etiquette anymore????

Have, therefore, decided to try Mandurah. They have been good I suppose (I did not buy the car from them). They have called and apologised for the car not being available/fixed, but yet blamed their suppliers for lack of gas.

That said, today whilst sitting on the doorstep their service tech/foreman did come and apologise for the situation. He explained that this is the first time they had done anything like this and were working through the manual step by step as things were not progressing smoothly and did not want to give me back a dodgy car.

All that is great, but I am now stuck with a crappy Patriot (and I REALLY MEAN CRAP) until Monday (Hopefully!!!).

Honestly, whilst I am loving the car when its going well, I am getting fed up with the whole Jeep scene.

Regards

Adrian

Re: Quadra Lift

I do feel your pain mate, went through exactly the same with mine
I purchased the car from John Hughes and got nothing but lies and excuses! The lack of concern that a brand new car did not work amazed me.
I would email John Hughes himself and he wouldn't reply in writing, he would try to call one time. If I was unable to answer the call it was then my fault for not having voice mail on my phone! Didn't matter that his number was hidden so I had no idea who actually called and I would need to chase them up constantly
Absolutely no care, no responsibility

Took it to DVG Maddington and when they finally worked through and found the problem, no one in the state had either the fittings or the nitrogen to fill the system?

Jeep should make sure their workshops are fully equipped to to deal with any issues that occur with these cars instead of inconveniencing the customers further by making them wait longer.

Hope it is all sorted out for you soon.

Well here we are again.

Latest update. Having ordered the part (probably actually not needed) and installed the part recommended by the technically and highly experienced personnel from Jeep. The system was eventually mated with the computer and then the found that the front strut was leaking gas.

WELL F#$K ME. Isn't that what I told you in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway. A new strut has been ordered - FROM THE EAST COAST!!! - to be road freighted to WA .

I'm guessing that I will be driving the shit box patriot for a few more days yet.

Latest cockup. Having ordered the part (probably actually not needed as it was a polishing rag) and installed the part recommended by the service work experience kid from the local McDonalds. The system was eventually duct taped to the computer and then the found that the front strut was leaking gas.

WELL Bl#w ME. Isn't that what I told you in the first place, and was quite evident from the sticker saying "Faulty Part-This strut is leaking-You can hear it hissing out the gas-Do Not Use"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway. A new gas cylinder has been ordered, together with another polishing cloth - FROM THE MELBOURNE TIP!!! - to be shipped, by sailing yacht via South Africa to WA .

I'm guessing that I will be driving the shit box 1967 patriot for a few more months yet
