Quadra Lift

Anyone had issues with their Quadra Lift system.

I have a drunk one which "hisses" gas from the brass fitting on the top of the passenger side strut.

Purchase/service centre stated "it's fine", just venting "air" which is normal. Can't explain the slightly sad/sagging look about an hour after stopping. Took it to another dealer today and they have now logged a "Job" with Jeep.

Pumps itself up after starting the engine, however, am concerned about longer term issues.

Thoughts anyone? - apart from the obvious (its FCUT)

Regards

Adrian

Re: Quadra Lift

Its an airleak spray some soapy water around the fitting it could be split. Replace the fitting or the nylon hose and it will be fixed

Nicjak I know it's an air/gas leak, but it's not from the hose. Try telling that to the numb skulls at the service department.

It's from the brass fitting where it attaches to the top of the strut. Push it and it gets worse. It's leaking from the bottom of the fitting not the top.

Apparently the system is charged with nitrogen, so am trying to get the idiot dealers to realise that there is a leak, fix it and recharge the system.

So far I have been told it's "normal" and it's only venting air . What bollocks is that. Took it for a second opinion today and now there is a job logged with Jeep as they have been on the phone and Jeep have asked for all sorts of things to be tried.

All I am asking here is whether anyone else has had a similar issue or not so I can use it to beat them around the head.

Regards

Adrian

Re: Quadra Lift

Cheers mate if its leaking nitrogen than thats an issue if its only air then its certainly very fixable with a new fitting, from memory they are a swivel type quick connect fitting, hope jeep sort it out for you but it certainly aint normal and would fail a rwc test in my shop

My thoughts exactly, hence me taking it for a second look at a different dealer.

It's supposed to be a "sealed" system that remains partly pressurised to make the suspension more efficient. Yeah right, if the first numb nuts are anything to go by.

As I said, am seeking more ammo here if there is any to be had.

Will see what happens.

Regards

Adrian.

Re: Quadra Lift

I thought it was a sealed system that uses nitrogen, I'm pretty sure it only ever vents back into the tank.

Re: Quadra Lift

I see the problem...your antenna is mounted on the passenger side of the nudge bar and with the extra weight (of the antenna) is sagging your passenger side down ;-)
(sorry, a smart arse comment like this should have come from Snuke, hehe).

Geez, seems some service centers will tell you anything to go away and stop bothering them with problems.....

Re: Quadra Lift

The QL is a sealed system and uses Nitrogen.
If it is indeed leaking, it will not leak for long, as the system will run out of Nitrogen and throw up an error. You might end up being a low rider.

Re: Quadra Lift

Yes the system is a Fully sealed system. If you hear/see bubbles from any part your Loosing Nitrogen & the system will eventually fail( Low/No Pressure). Tell your service center to log a repair & fix the bloody thing. If they give you any BS about AIR escaping get them to show you were in the Service manual it stated this or there workshop procedures! What dealership is it BTW?

Well here we are again. Took the GC in yesterday as the part had arrived from the US. Apparently this is what their diagnostics told them was wrong.

anyway, was supposed to pick the car up yesterday, but low and behold, gas had not arrived, so supposed to pick it up today. 1530 rolls by and the dealer phones. Gas has still not turned up and the car is in bloody bits with no gas in the system whatsoever.

Discussed what was proposed with the service dude and he was apparently blissfully unaware of where the system is (or would be if full of gas) actually leaking from. So waiting for tomorrow to come by and I will be visiting them early afternoon to check on progress.

Needless to say this is the second dealer that has managed to right royally piss me off.

Is it me or are they all pretty much totally useless.

Regards

Adrian.
