RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

I have the RB2S Media Centre. I think it might be standard at least on Aussie export Laredos. The hands-free setup works great but only for about a minute. It drops out then back in again a few seconds later. Very, very annoying! It doesn't matter where I place my phone. It happens even when the media centre screen shows full signal strength. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

Re: RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

Not an issue for my Samsung phone. However, it sometimes wont find the phone at all, even when I remove it from my pocket and show it to the screen. I suspect sometimes no one is home to see the phone.
Once connected, it stays connected while I am in the car.
Have you updated to the latest software?

Re: RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

Are you sure it is not your phone ?
Most times I have found the phone to be the problem. Check if there are any firmware updates, or if it is an iphone, they suck on BT.

Re: RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

Thanks guys! My phone is also a Samsung. It is new but a "dumb-phone". This replaced an older version of the same phone. It behaved the same. I hoped the new phone would solve the problem but no. I checked, there is no firmware update for it. Or did you mean a software update for the RB2S? Is there one? I'll try my wife's smart-phone and see if it works.

Re: RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

I'm got a Samsung S3 and have no problems with mine apart from the occasional 'don't see it at all' that allypally mentioned. Pretty sure it's the phone. If I turn the phone off and on its then fine.

Re: RB2S Media Center hands-free drop outs

We use an iPhone 4s and works no worries......not even "don't see ones". Whenever the phone comes within cooee of the Jeep it shows up.
One of the best gadgets we have is an extendable USB cord (from Woolies @ $5) that lives plugged in the top console.
One glance at the phone charge state and bog simple to lift the lid, plug in phone and jobs done. Fits the Ipod too, so between the hard drive, phone and iPod we've got years of music to mess with.

You might be on to something. Can you be more specific? I can't see a TSB listed for the RB2S.
