BS, Jeep Aust must have an army of lawyers in that legal department then to deal with all the camera complaints.

As you can see from the growing numbers of MY14 Laredo camera retrofits, the precedent has already been set.

I would suggest collate all the comments from the successful retrofitters, starting with me and write it up along with jpegs of the new cameras, appliques and images and dump it on your dealers desk. Dont ask for the service manager, ask for the head honchos like I did.
And get the Complaint Reference number from Nicole on the Customer Service Line to lock it in with HO.

Boots and all, BS. The flood gates have opened if you go about it the right way.
The camera is a massive improvement on what was orginally provided.

Jeep Narellan were odd. Natasha on the desk denied any knowledge of the OEM camera being installed, yet the service manager Scott told me they had done one.

My dealer just emailed me, my loom has arrived and they are ready to fit my camera. Will be interested to see which camera they will fit, allegedly the new model!! Time will tell!

Crashed,
If their findings are in the negative, get them to call me and I will get their findings in the positive for you!!
There are too many precedents set now they cant pick and choose.

Same for you RedPK, there should only be one outcome and thats for them to fit the upgrade camera. Apart from the much improved image resolution from the new camera, you should also have the new applique fitted.
Some owners are whingeing about no guide lines but I would sooner have a clear image than guide lines. I reverse my car into a tight spot and no guide lines isnt a problem.

Bluey,
I had my Laredo at the dealership today re the useless Camera and second rate install.... As expected the tech's reported to the warranty mgr camera is performing as it should.
No replacement under warranty.
Went on to say he was putting a motion forward to JA for replacement under goodwill.

Six months to deliver a vehicle they painted the wrong colour once, nearly twice, then I end up with the CV boot axle replacements issue from a dealer in Sydney who claimed all was good on the day of delivery..... Hadn't even done the latest flashes.
Four hours to get axle replacements expeditiously ordered before I took receipt of the vehicle, after they assured me I had latest updated camera install.

I got a ref no : from JA last week. Spoke to two girls there (I have their names.)
One, when pressed told me there was no one else to speak to. No further recourse. Finally I got a male person who is allegedly the Customer service mgr... Or one of them.

He tells me I have to take it to the dealership. I explained I was interstate, can't take it to the purchasing dealer.
I won't go into to much detail but essentially he said if I took it to the mob I bought it from they would change under goodwill and that no cameras to date have been changed as part of a warranty claim.

I told him I can't take it back to Sydney, further explained the BS involved in the last 7 months all the crop we'd been through the Sat Nav saga included and told him quite clearly the camera was not fit for purpose nor was it as described in print. He continued to advise take it to the dealer where you live have them assess the camera......

Tech says it is good.
Even the warranty mgr down here agreed they weren't much good. He said he'd driven a few and the new camera is better.

The amount of shyte we've been through.....
GOODWILL let's see about that Jeep Australia

I was also informed by the dealership that they have plenty of the new cameras and apliques in stock.

I'll be sending one more email to JA though I believe now the dealer has negated a warranty claim and kicked it back to JA to approve a goodwill replacement, that there is little more I can do.

Cheers

Wouldn't you have to manage the customer service to be a Customer Service Manager? I suppose it could actually refer to the more farm oriented meaning of service, where there is... well... a giver and a receiver.

It's quite possible that you have actually been very well serviced thus far

I too have got no where with Jeep Aus. Pretty much similar situation as Rockfly.

I'm in the process of having NSW Fair Trading look at it. If I get a win via them I would think Jeep Aus will then have to replace every Laredo camera.

Re: Rear safety camera

I too have been on the trail of having a new camera fitted to my Laredo.
My first approach was to the Service Dept, who told me that nothing could be done under warranty, but suggested that I approach New Car Sales.
I then saw the New Car people who said that they'd look into it which they did for just over two weeks before I decided to write to the General Manager of the dealership.
Within a few days I had a phone call from the Service Dept advising that I will be getting a new camera.
In my letter I mentioned the precedent that has been set by other dealers and referred to this forum thread.
I think for those still having difficulties that the precedent that has been set would be their strongest argument.

Blackadder sounds like you are working on the dealer you purchased from. I don't have that luxury.
I think JA is my only avenue at this time.
