The difference is definitely worth the effort, but still not the best I've seen. I was told that parts are worth $3000 which leads to expectations of a professional quality picture. This one still falls short of the picture on my wife's Subaru Impreza. And I've lost the grid lines.
I guess in summary I would say it is acceptable where the old one wasn't.
3k that's funny.

The facts as I know them...
All Laredo have same loom for dealer fitted cameras. Cameras were are the variable.
They don't supply a new loom, just the new applique and authorised camera.
If you were to get a new loom JA told me it would give you Limited model connectivity camera with dynamic grid lines and involves a full lining strip to run factory loom and two days at the dealership minimum.
My understanding is that the authorised camera/applique is valued at approx$300. plus labour.
Not the best I've seen but it's a major improved product now fit for purpose as it works at night.

Cheers

Before I was successful in getting my camera replaced I almost purchased from ebay the exact parts $350 plus freight.

Isn't it amazing the amount of conflicting information (read bulls***) that is fed to us by JA and their dealers.
Certainly $300 sounds a more realistic figure but the $3000 that I was told came from service and then sales within the same dealership. Admittedly at the time they were trying to convince me why I couldn't have a new camera.
As regards the loom, I could be wrong (again), but there were definitely two part numbers involved which were explained to me as camera and loom.
Not that it matters - I now have a camera that is acceptable.

Re: Rear safety camera

For $3,000 I would expect Ultra High Definition, Widescreen, Dolby DTS, and Remote Control with zoom capabilities.
As the advert says.
Jeep Dealers, Take your hand off it.

And I'd want them to throw in the QL and electronic tail lift for that price!

No, this was at Waitara. Maybe it's a part of JA's propaganda.

It's a pretty rare event that I would jump to the defence of a car dealership, but in my mid 60's I've dealt with quite a few over the years, and I have found Suttons at Waitara to be professional and helpful. I would definitely buy there again.

Would not recommend them at all to anyone and the rot goes all the way to the top.

Case in point $3000 Camera upgrade.

Cheers
