If it's the retro fit for the Laredo it won't have grid lines. Interestingly, mine has the gridline options selected in the Uconnect but none appear. As previously stated by OP,s, the quality, although better than before, still leaves a lot to be desired. Better'n nothin'.

Re: Rear safety camera

When you say they have agreed - do you have some documentation that would indicate this?

Re: Rear safety camera

MrMaxi, I started this off last year and finally got mine changed. I advised every MY14 Laredo owner that Chrysler Jeep Aust told me that each individual would have to apply for the upgrade themselves and that it would not be across the board. My dealer told me that I was being upgraded because I was a good customer. More likely just to shut me up!!! Have a look at my petition details and see if you can use them for a better camera.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo owner launches petition - Practical Motoring

A disgruntled Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo owner has launched an online petition regarding the dealer fitment of a ParkView reversing camera.

Have had a case going with Jeep Customer Service re replacement of the crap camera for 12 months.

After hearing nothing for 4 months, I shot off a quick email asking if any response from Jeep yet.

Well good news is Jeep are replacing the cameras on those who got the crap ones.
I called my dealer and they knew nothing of it.

Got Jeep Customer Service to speak to them and sorted it.

Camera should there ready to fit by next Wednesday.

It would be nice for us all affected to have a piece of paper from JA stating this, for when booking our next service.
(or booking several weeks prior to get the parts allocated).

This week a chubby fingered Toyota driver pushed mine in again so I had to do some surgery to extract it and bend it square again.

Re: Rear safety camera

Interested to see what you think of the new camera.

My dealer told me last week that the second "improved" camera is still aftermarket, and apparently the new camera being fitted on MY15 Laredo's are now genuine and have a mopar parts number.

Does anyone know if the new cameras being retrofitted now are the new mopar ones?
