Hi MMM, My local Auto one store; $489 ea with 16gb cards. DR650GW-2CH

Post a pic of your current setup.
Here is a night pic from the current camera. And, the reverse lights are super bright LEDS.

Hopefully the new cams can do better.

Re: Rear safety camera

I have the original camera, and received the letter offering the upgrade.

A feature of the crappy camera I like is the vision of the tow bar when I am reversing to hook up the caravan. Does the upgraded camera provide the same view of the tow bar?

Regards

Re: Rear safety camera

Try this for "quality" It's the one I sent in with the letter i wrote a couple of weeks ago.

It is set way to far inwards so the glow from the numberplate lights and tail lights is pretty bad. Also there is a significant portion of the car itself in the frame.

Not sure about why those wires are joined! I can check on my wiring if you like, but that won't be tonight...

One suggestion: Make really sure that your jumper wire is electrically connected. When I plugged things together for the first time, I thought that everything was connected and then discovered that the pins in the I5010 connector were very well protected & deep. That's why I used a paperclip arm soldered onto the wire - and had to push the paperclip all the way in before they electrically joined. And then, I got my multimeter on it to double check!

Let me know how you go.

EDIT: Just looked at your picture in more detail. Is this what the dealer did in fitting your newcam? Very 'professional'! FWIW, the male end of your connector (going to wiring loom in vehicle) looks the same as mine, the spaghetti you have on the newcam side is very different.

Ick! That's what mine looked like at night (which is why I call it a crapcam). I posted a pic of the new one with lines on it already: Not perfect, but leaves the original for dead. Push to get your's replaced!

Thanks, but that number is just part of the AustPost barcode/address system!

Still, guess what arrived in my letterbox today :-) More things to waive at the service department on Friday...

Re: Rear safety camera

Just so you all know I am having the new camera installed tomorrow by my dealer, they said Chrysler issued them all plenty of stock. I'll let you know how it goes and maybe take a photo or two. At the moment I have no grid lines and no option for them so I will remind them in the morning to not give it back without them and the option to turn them off and on.

And...?

Curious, since I have a service Friday and want to raise this with them - even though I've done my own moving line mod...
