Re: Rear safety camera

I was trying to determine if the Jeep one is any better than my dealer supplied camera (see my post 471). My current one is a bit grainy at night.

Re: Rear safety camera

Just a follow up. Had the camera replaced. New one is a wholeeeeee lot better. Better quality in day and night. Love the dynamic grid lines but no option to turn them off.

Re: Rear safety camera

Ok 20k service done today, had the good camera but no lines, I was told given I had a letter and I was a good customer that they replaced the harness so I got the lines and on my my14 I have the option to turn on/off, I really can't complain about my dealer they replaced a chrome door trim that I scratched and put it through as warranty claiming that it was lifted.

Re: Rear safety camera

Can someone take a photo of their footwell under the brake and accelerator. Since they did the camera upgrade the carpet now rests on the back of the brake. Makes it harder to push and it just feels different. Looks like this is where they may have wired something new up. Would love to see what everyone else's looks like. Re: Rear safety camera

Had my new camera fitted today. The best part of a day to fit. The new wiring loom is installed down the RH side of the vehicle. The quality of picture is excellent in daylight, but no quite as good at night . Dynamic guidelines are great.

Rear safety camera

Had mine upgraded as well, I had the new camera but the incorrect harness so they fitted that up and all good, lines and all. Interesting how the lines turn with the steering input.

Re: Rear safety camera

I had the new camera (version 2, no gridlines) fitted early in the saga and also recently got the letter about the replacement as mine doesn't have grid lines.

Called the service manager who agreed to fit the Version 2 camera next Monday.

Looking forward to seeing the result (with gridlines).

Will let you know how I go.

Re: Rear safety camera

No letter here either.

My car did come fitted with the "updated" camera but no grid lines. I do have the option to turn grid lines on/off via the settings which makes no difference, so I assume the loom was not changed.
