As with you, I have the option to turn lines on that doesn't work, however I have received a letter. Due for my 20k service soon, so will ask them to turn that function on as mine is obviously "faulty"! Will see what happens.

Same as mine mate, they changed my harness but I suspect they didn't have too. They said because I am good customer they looked after me.

They will need to change the harness.

Re: Rear safety camera

Got the rear camera mods today. Already had V2 in the new style but without gridlines. The dealer installed the new harness etc.

Now have dynamic gridlines and the ability to turn them off if required.

Happy with daytime view, see how it goes in the dark.

Camera was not changed as it was the current version.

Car at the dealers for 4 hours.

Re: Rear safety camera

Booked the car in for the 20k service today and flagged that I was not getting the reversing lines even though I have a new camera fitted, I have that option selected on Uconnect and my letter says I should have them. Will see what happens next week then when I take it in.

Hmmm, just as an observation, I have the new camera fitted, (dealer fitted it when I got the car this time last year) and just eyeballing your pictures, I reckon your picture is clearer than mine. Wonder if the more recent cameras have better definition?

Re: Rear safety camera

Well, paid my dealer a visit today and told him that Laredo owners were getting the letter re camera upgrades and that I wasn't happy as guys with the upgrade are getting new ones with dynamic grid lines. Also told him in 6 months of ownership i've not had one letter from FCA advising of recalls & TBA's. He said leave it with me "i'll look into it"
1/2 an hour later i get a call to say they've ordered me a "new" camera and all recall's and TBA's that can be done, will be applied!

I think FCA have caused themselves another drama with this by making the active gridlines available. Understandably those who got the factory camera and no gridlines will be pissed.

Although apart from Jeep Garage members most will be oblivious to this.

BTW I'm having the dealer change my loom to enable the gridlines.

Oh well, guess they will just have to suck it up and upgrade everyone's wiring looms. Damn shame that!

Bigskiddy, i'd be happy with fixed grid lines, or even lines!

But seriously it will be interesting to see if there's an improvement in quality.
