Sorry to bust your bubble but Jeep is not supplying the Laredo with cameras. they say they do, but they don't, I am about to take them to task with our local legislators for fraudulent behaviour. Bought my GC Laredo in November 2013 and no camera to date.

Well there is your first mistake - Castle Hill are useless.

Castle Hill used to be my dealer for years when I had Commodores - but no longer. They know nothing about Jeeps or the JA systems and generally don't give a rats...

Find another dealer.

Love the car but likely would not buy it again because of very bad experience overall with customer service by both Jeep Australia and their Dealer.
Agree with you totally Jeloppee,

But I bought my MY14 Laredo in NOVEMBER 2012 and finally delivered in SEPTEMBER 2013.

Complete stuff ups by both the dealer and Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep/Dodge/RAM/Alfa Romeo or whover they call themselves this week.

Delayed installing my rear park/safety camera in until this month in the hope that it is a better quality resolution but by all accounts ints not!!

We may have to take a unified combined stand (class action) against this mob to get it improved.

Count me in for support of any organised group effort to sort out this issue. We took delivery of our Laredo last week without the camera and I'm contemplating a preemptive purchase of the $20 camera that Peanut used and asking the dealer to install this instead of the crappy one when the rest of the camera kit arrives.

Why on earth did you accept delivery??? Did you pay 100% of the purchase price? If so why didn't you get 100% of your car?

I know it's easy for me to say this, but the chances of getting the camera sorted by JA must be close to zero on past experience.

How's your car otherwise?

Re: Rear safety camera

Spoke with Jeep Customer Service this afternoon, after getting no joy nor response from the dealer and was advised a large shipment of cameras will be going out to the dealers this month which should clear a majority of the backlog.

Hopefully they are of a decent standard after seeing some of the horror stories posted above I don't like my chances.

I did ask why they have only got in enough to clear the backlog and not enough to fit to all vehicles prior to delivery but couldn't get an answer to that one...

Anyway another month of waiting and we will see if this promise is as hollow as all the others.

Re: Rear safety camera

I got my new reverse camera fitted yesterday to my Laredo .

My first impressions are it is a much improved camera. Much better optics and not so fish bowl effect.
If you have a MY14 Laredo insist on getting the crap camera originally supplied replaced.

Ohhh Dear.
1 month they said?
That will be a problem. They normally quote 2 weeks, which means never, So 1 month? That must mean Never Ever.

I genuinely laughed out loud.

Nice work,
Steve

Hi

I would love to but i am almost computer illiterate.
I can tell you that there is nothing visually different from the original one.
I did put a small scratch on it to make sure they did replace it and they did.
If you can explain to me in simple terms how i can take a photo with my Samsung phone and post it i will try.

Elvin

Yes paid 100% purchase price and at the time it didn't seem a big enough issue to make a fuss about. I don't doubt they'll provide the camera so its just the potential poor quality of the image that's the issue.

Other than that, the car is fantastic; easily the best value and performance in this segment. Like others have said the diesel is very refined with heaps of power and the transmission is silky smooth. Can't detect any exhaust smell either.

Even though it is a Laredo it still feels very premium and cruises gracefully at high speeds. Also think its the best looking 4WD out there and we love the look of the bright white.

Despite the disappointment with the dealer and misaligned tailgate, camera etc we are very happy with the car itself. Though I am quietly nervous about the DPF issues others are reporting; hopefully Jeep come up with a fix soon before it hits us, but that's another thread..
