Hi,
Does any one know how many times a vehicle can go in for the same warranty work until its either replaced by the manufacturer or replaced under consumer rights or law.
In my instance this will be the 4th time I have had the rear shocks replaced (all leaked).
The Jeep is a 2012 model first registered in July 2012 and I have now travelled 60K.
Thanks for any info
John

Hello,

I have been informed by my servicing dealer that my rear shock absorber parts (top mounts, I believe) will not be available in Australia until December 2014; only waiting since May (2nd replacement of schockers); patience is a virtue, I understand.

Hi David,
Dealer checked out the leaking shock and both are to be replaced.
Advised that should be here in early October.
A bit quicker than your mid December.
Still don't know what caused this failure.
I hope this set works as I only have 11 months of warranty left.

John, as I understand it, the noise in the rear of the non QL vehicles has finally been identified as relating to the rear shock mounts - as kunwok pointed out.
Having your rear shocks replaced (again), may not be the end of your noise issues, unless they do the mounts at the same time - if they are available.
Hopefully the issue can be resolved for you.
Good luck

Hi John,
I hope this set of shocks does fix the problem.
With 11 months warranty left and already My fourth set of shocks, well, what will happen when I am say 1 month out of warranty.
I am just concerned that there is something wrong with the car and this is causing the premature failure to the shocks.

If you have a documented ongoing problem it is irrelevant that your warranty has expired. To be sure I'd ring JA and get a case number so you have proof of a pre existing unresolved condition before the warranty expires.

All,

Had a call Thursday from my local dealer advising that replacement rear shock upper parts are now available; booked in for next Friday for warranty work, together with 30K service, brake booster issues, and a few software update.

All,
Had 30K service, warranty work and software/hardware updates and consumable parts today as follows:
Service
1. Part # 68194936AA Blade Front Wiper$108.74
2. Part # 68082561AA Blade Front Wiper$131.23
3. Part # 68197131AA Blade Rear Wiper$ 30.13 ( I asked for blades to be replaced and was advised when I queried cost that complete arm is only available)

Warranty
4. TSB 17-002-14 Rear shock noise- 2 x Part # 68252113AA Shock Mounting Kit – By the time I had driven 40 kM noise was just the same as before – Is it not the shocks, is it something else? Spoke to dealer service and was advised that I am the only one that has reported a problem; will take it back next week for further investigation.
5. RA4 radio display panel has recently done 1 hard and 2 soft resets of its own accord that I am aware of. Service could find nothing, but R & R’d radio, checked all connections and reconfigured
6. P36-16 Sun Visor Recall – Part # CBXDP361AA Guides
7. RC – P14 Brake Booster – Part # CBXNP143AA Booster Recall Kit
8. Brown scum in radiator overflow tank – advised it is normal as Glycol breaks down under heat

Update
9. 21-026-14 TCM Software – Update TCM (Transmission Control Module)
