There is no specific FSM for Australia, but all of the manuals listed show the 20,000km interval (North America, Europe, China and Latin America).

Hi Milous,

What's the service interval for the 3.6L V6 petrol in other countries?

Kev.

Have just done a calculation using the EVIC and "oil life" (remembering that math was not my strong point at school...)
Oil Life = 89%
Kms since resent (distance since purchase) = 2390km
Which by my calculations would mean I don't need an oil change until 20,000kms according to the EVIC under current driving conditions yet the handbook specifies an oil change at 10000kms

You are trying to analyse science compared with money.
Not really a simple equation.

For example, the EVIC is using an algorythm based on carefully thought out calculations based on science and testing.
Whereas, the manual is using an algorithm based on a formula better known as Greed due to overservicing.

You could always phone Jeep Aust support 1300 133079 and ask their explanation. I am sure you will be amused when you hear their explanation, which might include statements such as
"Australia has a unique climate" which is far different to anywhere in the unknown universe"
"My farther was a Rabbit Breeder, so we know best"
"There is a typo in the manual. It should read 200klms, not 10,000klms"
"Did you say you have a Jeep? How do you spell that?"
"Please explain what you mean by oil?"
"The CEO of Jeep Australia needs to make another lease payment for their Veyron, and you are the sucker making those payments"
"Hello. We must have a bad connection as I don't understand your question"
"It's because of the bushfires. We need to consume as much oil as we can so it doesn't get burnt in the ground"
"You bought a Jeep?. Ha Ha Ha...Get over it"

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

Ally is of course referring to the Australian Owners manual with the 10K service interval.....as distinct from the Factory Service Manual for the CRD engine, or the European owners manual, or the Latin American owners manual, or even - the New Zealand owners manual.
For those that have been around since the introduction of the new CRD - New Zealand started out their run with a 15K service interval that was subsequently increased to 20K to bring it into line with the rest of the world.
That was about the time this thread was started, to relate to the rumours that did the rounds at that time.
Those rumours were quickly hosed down in Australia using the talking points Ally has noted.
We do get ripped off, but then again, as I posted elsewhere - it could be argued that over servicing isn't necessarily a bad thing, if your wallet can stand it.

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

The 3.6l petrol owners out there may have noticed that our engine isn't even listed on the service interval page. The 3.7l is and 3.8l are but not the 3.6l.............

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

Jeep Australia sucks, even Jeep UK site shows CRD service at 12 months or 12,500miles (20,000km's), I got told that our diesel is supposed to be made to their same standards now.

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

I've been debating the "over servicing" compared to overseas since I first took delivery of my CRD Grand Cherokee and at my 90,000 service it was yet again confirmed its 6months or 10,000 klms...There is no reasonable reason for this other than bull..it!
We are no hoter and certainly no colder than the US it's always been the generic jeep service book and resistance to halving your visits to the dealer.

Australians get ripped off on everything why not keep the tradition alive!!!
