Milous, I am making a submission to our local Governing body about this, and want to supply official info regarding the requirements for these territories as supporting evidence.
I have looked over your WK2 site and canít find the service docs except the Canadian diesel supplement which states 12 months or 16,000km.

Am I blind or is only the Canadian one listed (as US)?

Not really a simple equation.

For example, the EVIC is using an algorythm based on carefully thought out calculations based on science and testing.
Whereas, the manual is using an algorithm based on a formula better known as Greed due to overservicing.

You could always phone Jeep Aust support 1300 133079 and ask their explanation. I am sure you will be amused when you hear their explanation, which might include statements such as
"Australia has a unique climate" which is far different to anywhere in the unknown universe"
"My farther was a Rabbit Breeder, so we know best"
"There is a typo in the manual. It should read 200klms, not 10,000klms"
"Did you say you have a Jeep? How do you spell that?"
"Please explain what you mean by oil?"
"The CEO of Jeep Australia needs to make another lease payment for their Veyron, and you are the sucker making those payments"
"Hello. We must have a bad connection as I don't understand your question"
"It's because of the bushfires. We need to consume as much oil as we can so it doesn't get burnt in the ground"
"You bought a Jeep?. Ha Ha Ha...Get over it"
Some might argue that its called "preventitive maintenance"....
Personally, im not too concerned with service intervals. We turn over our vehicles every 3 yrs, last one only had 35k on the clock.

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

A few years ago I had a company suppplied car (BA Falcon) leased through Orix, and the servicing interval was every 15000km. I can recall by the time the service was due the car felt sluggish, the oil putrid. When I chose to buy my own car (FG XR6), it too had the same service interval, but I would only change oil & filter every 7500km, and the normal service at the 15000km mark. When I recently sold the car with 60000km, and due for a service, the oil was still fresh. I always been told regular servicing, goes a long way towards trouble free motoring, and have practiced this with all my cars - suffice to say I have never had engine problems due to wearing.

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

Changing oil and filters is one thing, and relatively easy.
Paying through the nose every 6 months is just overkill.

Exactly right. In my younger days when the engine felt a little sluggish and used too much oil, one would get a rebore, valve grind, camshaft regrind and maybe a crackshaft regrind. This was fairly routine despite having oil change intervals os 5,000 miles. Of course whe didn't have oil filters in those days. The oil change was supposed to get the gunk out. These days rebores etc are almost unheard of. I can't remember when I last heard of someone wearing out an engine. Modern oils are just so good.

The diesel supplement is the U.S. version (also covering Canada).

The Maintenance service docs are located at the Maintenance link, just scroll down a little:

Thanks, I couldn't see that.

So here is how it stands for the CRD, sorry petrol people I don't care about you.

Aus 6 months or 10,000km
China 6 months or 10,000km
Europe/UK 6 months or 10,000km
Latin America 12 months or 20,000km
North America 12 months or 16,000km

So, we are not abnormal, we are inline with all others except the Americas
New Zealands' is not there, and I can't find it anywhere including there website which has far less info than ours.

I won't be making the submission as there is nothing to back it up.

Re: Revised service interval for Aus & NZ?

Does anyone have a kiwi mate who can check this? I think they have phones in NZ - can we ring a dealer and enquire?

I'm actually going to NZ for Xmas holidays, so if I get a chance ( and my missus lets me) ill drop in to a dealer.

Sorry, I can't seem to find where it says that, as I can only see any reference to export diesels as per below:

It looks like Jeep has revised this for the 2014 models, as before they have shown 12/20,000km.

I need to go through all of the latest manuals for all model years, domestic and export, as it appears there have been some revisions, and make corrections to the site accordingly.
