Re: Rhino Roof Rack

Looks good!

The basket could be a bit wider I think, but it's definitely useful as is. That's a steel basket, right?

Rockrails look good too. This is a nice progressive build.

Got the Thule rack on and Rhino basket. Basket is small but I knew that when ordering, it's only to really get bags or swag out of the car. Ordered a Snake Racing 30inch LED bar to go on the front, so photos to follow.

Thanks for that. No its not steel, it could be wider for sure and a touch longer. But I just need it for my swag, camp chair and little else. It's very lite and power coated.

Re: Rhino Roof Rack

Update, sitting in Yulara campgrounds after driving the Oonadatta Track and the 130k limit NT roads. Rack and car have been great at speeds up to 10 and in the rough stuff. We are carrying about 45 kg on the roof and it is no issue at all. Fuel economy around 9.9 overall inc the offroad and hi speed sections. Those who choose not to buy the GC because of the 5 speed are making a mistake, it is not an issue! Even the tyres have been fine though the track stones have chopped them up a bit so closer to justifying something a bit tougher. National Luna 50 fridge hooked up to a 75 amp thumper aux battery has been great and memory maps on an iPad good for off and on road navigation. Pretty happy so far, let's see how we go on 2400k trip home!

Re: Rhino Roof Rack

Been awesome weather this week and by the look of the track and the green bush it's been wet earlier on.

Yeah the rain eased up a few weeks ago. We fly over there quite a bit.

I think the wet season is virtually over.

I think you're right ... The last two days here have been fantastic! Actually I'm not happy that I have to fly back home to the Gold Coast if the weathers like this. It's going to be a long four days, lol
