The fact is the dealers only take approx $500 - $1000 per unit sold as a margin but the dealership receives a decent bonus / kick back from HQ based on the number of cars they move so.......

  1. There is no incentive for customer service for only $500-$1000 and
  2. There eye is on the bigger prize from HQ which requires NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER
Now, the difference here between CJD and say Toyota is cultural. The Japanese drum "service" a little deeper into their dealer principles whereas as we're all experiencing with CJD, the yanks have not grasped this basic sales / service and have not mandated this into their dealer principles which is VERY BAD FOR US.

I'm not sure how true this is - the two dealers I have used are multi franchise - one is Mitsi, Nissan, VW, Skoda, and Jeep / Dodge. The others is Heartland with Suzuki, Mitsi and Jeep (was Holden up to early this year).

I still think the root of the problems lie with HQ in Melbourne.

and that's my point.....

Practically any established car brand in Australia have it drummed in to them that although they're only making $500-$1000 margin per turnover they know they have the opportunity to make more on parts and service IF they can retain the customer with after sales service.

CJD on the other hand have no such concept / culture in place. They're heavily relying only on "new" business and with "repeat" business not even on their radar to their great shame.

BTW, Salters have historically been a used car dealer and have only in recent years dabbled in the new car market. The problem with them is "dabbling" is not what gives a customer that warm fuzzy feeling.

And saying this you would think that Being on the out side looking in at the New dealers they would get there and learn and say to them selves well lets not do it that way. lets try this way, try some thing new. But no, they are truly a 2nd hand car dealer and thats they should stay doing.

It appears if you want a Jeep Service in Brisbane you have the choice of not very good and bad.
I had a good purchase experience with Northern Rivers Jeep (Lismore NSW) via Private Fleet. I would probably take it back there if they weren't 200km away.
I will let you know how I go soon with the local Brisbane Service centre.

My nearest Jeep dealer is 500km away and they're still useless. I wish I could drive 200km for a good one.

Never ever take it to Mansfield. Salters gets a bad rap on this thread due to shonky oil change. Albion was OK, $430 for a 10k on a CRD, but did not stamp the Service/Warranty. Minor complaint but I left the service book on the drivers seat and it was lest on the passenger seat unstamped. The garage is clean & tidy and the waiting room is OK. Staff are OK too, except too busy to return calls which is a frustration.

So has anyone found a decent service agent to deal with in Brisbane yet? Only 2500kms on my 12 GC so far and looking for somewhere to establish a relationship with. Definitely won't be Springwood!

I had an email from Mansfield Service this week informing me that they no longer do Warranty work on Jeeps and you will have to go to Albion

I have found Anthony Pirrotta (Parts) at Albion very good to deal with. So much so that I sent both his supervisor and Bob (Leo) Muller an email recognising his good work especially after such poor customer service from other areas of the CJD organisation. I haven't had my 10K service yet but I reckon I'll be going to Albion.

Yes, Mansfield is my nearest centre and I enquired about my warranty items to which they said it is now only done at Albion. Not impressed I took it to Salters but Albion seems to be copping the least amount of flack here..
