Re: Scratch and Dents

That damage looks a bit suss, you would think you would have seen or heard something if it happened while driving, hopefully its not that sinister and a tree branch fell on it or something.

You should be able to find a good repairer at a good price. The paintless dent guys are incredibly talented these days, they would be my first try for a quote and if its possible to do.

Apart from a proper detailer / paint shop is there a way to get at least the scratches fixed? Would touch up paint do it, or would that simply look horrid and need a proper fix later?

Sorry, no banana for scale so I had to use the key.

Hi Snuke,
Another option to minimise the visual impact whilst you wait to repair. I have some scratch polish which I have used which may reduce the visual, I also have a dent less guy who is great and will send his details tonight when I get home. He is mobile and did a brilliant job on my guard.
Cheers

The guy did a great job, 3 hours, filled several scratches and dents, and resprayed the whole rear bumper. Excellent paint and colour match, looks like new. $330.
They will come and look at the job and quote first - maybe worth a suss out of what is available in your area just to see what they say.
Big call though to have a go at the bonnet, maybe try one of the magic touch up sticks.
Or take it out in the shrubbery and accumulate a few others so the ones you have now don't stand out.
John
Serious? I was rear ended and it was just a scratch and they had to replace the whole rear number! Did they do a good job ?

Re: Scratch and Dents

A tradie fell off our roof onto the bonnet of our mazda 3 a couple years ago. Bonnet was dented with the shape of his forearm, the paintless repair guy said too difficult to get straight, so went for a replacement bonnet.

I paid for the repair myself, then took it off the bill. $1400.

Well ....

Another flipping fender bender today ... Some one kindly changed lanes on around about without looking and clipped my front end.

This will be my third new front bar (4x4 mishap, then a kangaroo and now this)

Building may have been hail damaged, so they moved?

Re: Scratch and Dents

Guys do you reckon it's worth getting a touch up job or getting the whole fender done for a stone chip damage to the right front panel on a 5000km driven jgc 2014- maximum steel?, I mean this thing gouged the undercoat off.

Since I paid for some aftercare, they put some kind of color protectant, and they sent someone to do some touch up , he put some filler and painted over it and now looks like a glob sitting over the chip, I was advised that repainting the entire panel will not bond as well and will be clearly apparent in 12 months,

The only place I know of is the touch-up-guys in my town,

Re: Scratch and Dents

Hey SNUKE have you tried Opticoat or anyone else tried this Opti Coat official dealer Gold Coast

they are everywhere is Australia I have heard good things anyone else tried Opticoat before ?? my SRT8 2014 has only 200klms on the clock and have booked it in next Thursday it will take the guy about 6hrs and that's to do the whole outside of the car and all the Spyder Monkey wheels and also to protect all of the inside of my interior at a cost of $850 and that's for 5yr warranty and if I spend another $200 I get lifetime warranty...

Any thoughts on this guys would be helpful , just curious I never hear anyone getting this done on there Beastly machines on this forum or other SRT8 forums
