Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Sorry guys,
can't help SOR, I use Wanneroo jeep and have been more than happy with their service so far, car booked in for 10 tomorrow, so hopefully no retraction tomorrow arvo, the other person who has done all the additions to my jeep is Gavin at Cruisinon, all his work and service has been first class, both are around a 100 click round trip but so far, touch wood all good

Just got the 10k service for my GC today at John Hughes. Price was $444 but I supplied the oil so ended up being $264 which I thought was not too bad.
Only a 5 minute wait in the waiting area when I arrived and the service guy (Adrian I think he was called) wanted to go outside to see the car asking if there were any problems with it (first time that's happened when I've dropped a car off for its service!). Got them to take a look at the front left parking sensor which goes off randomly when stopped at traffic lights even when nothing near the sensor.
Courtesy bus in to CBD and back was on time.
10 minute wait in the waiting area when I went back to pick up the car but the service guy (same guy from the morning) apologized for that. He went through what had been done to the car (10k service stuff and 3 recall updates) and the costs.
Went out to the car with me to check that the log book had been stamped and the oil life thing rest which they had been.
And on the 20 minute journey home in traffic the front parking sensor didn't go off when it shouldn't have which looks promising.
Overall pleasantly surprised by my first jeep servicing experience so will give them another go for the next service.

Hey Bignslow (obviously a reference to a previous vehicle!)
Where did you get your oil from?

Hi redldr,
Got the oil from eBay
Seller is gllubricantsptyltd
I got 10 x 1 liters of Mobil 1 esp 5w30 for $154.50 delivered. Only need 8 liters for oil change so that's about $124.
Would have cost $180 for john Hughes to supply the oil so saved about $56 and I know that the oil used is good.

Ozzy Park for 10,000km service and recall work today. Car now has a rattle I suspect is the brake lines I have read others have experienced. Oil life not reset. Exterior dirtier than when delivered by way of water spots and drool lines. Would not confirm regeneration history, saying "I would have noticed it". Rejected the Mopar filter voucher, saying they'd "never seen it". Instead gave me 10% off the total, which was an amount higher than quoted. I couldn't be bothered with it and just paid to be free of the joint.

The stand in Service Manager seemed to be trying to do a good thing. Pity everyone else smokes crack at smoko!

It seems wherever you go it's a lottery.

Cheers,
Steve

Went to John Hughes, courtesy ride to work. Service, Had a new seat motor installed left one had failed, 4x4 update done, wheel alignment (free) couple of others things i can't recall but was ready on time, even had a smiley face on the reminder sticker and handwritten drive safely ! Best service I've ever had ( so to speak lol)

Looks like John Hughes is where I'll be sending my car shortly for a service..

Is that the big John Hughes place on Welshpool Rd?

Yep, well just off Welshpool road on Swansea street and you will probably see the Big Man himself as he is there most mornings to meet service customers. Nice touch - in touch!

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Well this is not about servicing exactly, but definitely a positive service department experience to report.

I've had this rattle / squeak since service and recall works were done. I figured it was one of the numerous, low clearance metal heatshields which had been bumped or something. Spending time under the car tweaking potential sources of noise proved mostly fruitless. Looking at other possible noise sources, I noticed that it was almost 100% likely me who f#&*ed up on the day before the service... without realising at the time. I realised when I jacked the car with the factory jack to swap wheels I had used the wrong point on the body. Damn it... I even looked at the manual beforehand but it seemed to be totally nonsensical, so I went with what looked like an appropriate point which was a good fit for the jack. I should have slid under to confirm what I thought I was looking at, because it wasn't.

Anyway, I attended Ozzy Park Service today feeling much embarrassment on my behalf. Fortunately I had not been a **** when thinking the problem was from the service work, and no one made me feel (more) like an idiot. There was even a bit of support in that it wasn't clear, or as you might expect based on other vehicle's arrangements. I awaited a damage assessment... and quote to repair.

Wow. I've seen examples of cheap Jeep parts, but the price I was given to replace the two very slightly misshapen triangular brackets was astoundingly reasonable. There's little doubt that I would have paid well more for something similar at Toyota, Nissan or especially Land Rover. I immediately forgot ideas of straightening the brackets out with a few blocks of wood and a hammer.

What was best though, is I got a chance to chat with Matt the Service Manager for a while. Whilst doing so I realised that there's definitely someone who I feel I can rely on at Ozzy Park. He may not be who I get to speak to first, but if there's a problem, I reckon there's a good chance of resolving it with him.

So I just thought I'd share the good in the same manner as the bad... even if the tale is quite embarrassing for me!

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Well I went ahead and had my 24k service done by John Hughes. Pretty impressed overall. Everything i had included on my initial enquiry email was listed on the job card to be done, They sorted all the TSB's I mentioned, have ordered a waterpump as mine is weeping, and ordered a new stereo as mine refuses to speak directions. They did the 2.140 update on it too i noticed.
Friendly staff, very efficient operation. I think the only thing I didn't really rate was the service adviser - mainly because he tried the upsell (intake clean), and spoke to me as though i knew nothing about cars (I'm actually a qualified mechanic) - and I cant stand someone who speaks over me when I'm trying to explain an issue. Definitely not a deal breaker though, and I will be returning.
I supplied my own oil, and the service cost was $348.00 all up.

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Hahah I bought mine from jeep Melville, they had a demo advertised at the time, called me after I enquiried, drove there from north of the river, to be told oh sorry that one was sold months ago, wtf. Bait and switch I call it. Any way I cracked the shits they ended up selling me a new one for the demo price ie $46500 drive away on a loredo 4x4 2012 at the time. Usual was $49000 or so. Didn't end there, trim was cut on the door from reverse camera install, sales rep told me the keys are in it, any questions let me know. I've had better service at maccas, shocking. I'm sure a duty of care exists prior to driving off in a new unfamiliar vehicle !
Never heard another word from them, after spending nearly $50 000. So I'm not surprised about the oil filter disaster.
