Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Similar experience at Melville.. Was looking for a late 2013 build Laredo, Anthony there told me they had a Nov built in my colour so made the half hour trip to check it out. Turned out to be an Aug build which we balked at. He then said they had an early 2014 'coming in 10 days'. We agreed on a price and started the contract. We had to ask 3 times to get the clause guaranteeing the 2014 build date, but finally he wrote it in. No VIN number yet, he would call with that the next day. Next day comes and I get the call, there is no 'on the way' car, they only have the Aug 13 build, generously offered to me at the same price we signed up for. Told them to shove it and they cancelled the contract. Bought at Osb Park the next night for a better price on a Sep 13.
The Osb Park sales manager was able to tell us which dealer we had been to the previous night just from our description of the events, so they have gained a reputation for this.

So in a nutshell Melville should be avoided, bait and switch seems to be a favourite game down there.

Osborne Park CJD have so far been professional and courteous.

Love the car so far!

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Might try John Hughes for my 50k next service as long as I don't get another upsell like I did for my 20k. Some sort of engine clean "really" the car was only 10 months old. My local is Mandurah but I need to re morgage the house to get a service from them.

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Maddington dvg were good and I bought from them, but lately they been wankers on my warranty claim so I might move on. .. I've only heard worst from John huges though and I've had bad dealings with wanneroo jeep for warranty claims "as I didn't purchase from them".

If you go to John Hughes, get ready to not only mortgage the house but also make sure you have a good supply of Valium to counter act the pain and suffering they will put you through

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Yeah, I took mine to J. Hughes for the 20k service and waited over an hour for my name to be called out. They were largely unapologetic.

Then when I picked up the car, they put some rubbish gunk into the water jet reservoir which blocked the jets.
Took it to my cousin mechanic who said it looked like snot.

Who knows what kind of oil they put in. My fuel economy has been pretty bad for the last 10k now. Averaging 10.5

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

If it is so bad, where do majority of you guys in WA take your vehicle to get serviced?

I'm starting to get a little worried and I haven't even taken delivery of my car!

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

I have only dealt with Jeep Osborne Park and can't fault them thus far from the sales service I got to now dealing with their service department.

Very professional on both fronts thus far and the service department has been great to deal with and have sorted out a few minor warranty issues that I picked up after taking delivery.

Before purchasing I visited JH, Melville and Mandurah dealers and from first impressions their sales service was not that great. Can't comment on their service departments.

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

I'll recommend Ossie Park based on experiences from the first 4 months of ownership. So far I've only seen professional service, and they have not given us any grief when we have asked for things to be done such as the dodgy reverse camera replacement, and TSB's. Fingers crossed they aren't charging like wounded bulls when it's time for the first service.. 😉

Cheers, Simon

Hi Simon,

When you take your vehicle into OP JCD for service, do they provide a free courtesy vehicle for you to use?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Jason
