I think you'll find this is only possible if the trailer wiring has been run to the engine bay... and I'm not even sure that this is possible on Aussie models. I've not heard of one Grand which isn't spliced into the rear lighting, and I've been listening closely.

Put in a switch on the rear ParkSense power supply as BobT has, or a switched trailer socket as per my DIY Trailer Wiring thread.

Cheers,
Steve

Might have to do more research then. I thought there was already a lead in harness in the spare tire/area which you need to purchase the oem tow hitch wiring.

PS, is the rear park sense power not also powering the fronts?

In sort, it's not all difficult to turn off park sense altogether at the button if you are towing.

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

The rear ParkSense power is independent. You get a dash warning, but no codes.

Turning off ParkSense wasn't the problem... it was remembering to turn it back on.

Cheers,
Steve

Servicing jeep in perth

OK, back from ossy park service. Customer service was accommodating, probably best if I never have to ever speak to their techy. Great curtosy car drop off and pick to my office.

So I mentioned everything that needs to be checked and they did everything.

Check my drl head lamp reflector discoloration which I complained about and said other cars on the lot had the same issue and considered it normal - I've given up on that one.

Did these 2 recalls.

Did not wash car.

At drop off I mentioned and they wrote down I did not need the Cabin filter replaced as it was done at the last interval.

At pickup, they said they replaced the cabin filter even though they were aware I did not request for it still they gave me a discount totaling $680 for 50k service.

So I said "how did you change the cabin filter? If the glove box is locked. "

They said they must have used the keys.

I said the key is in my pocket as I only left the fobik!

Oops, drum roll....

He went out back and reconfirm the filter was not replaced. And he only was reading the 50k print out. Scribbled out the cabin filter.

Paid and Walked out.

Doesn't sound great.. Mine is in at Os Pk later this month for 12k service and towbar fit. I really hope they don't try pulling shit like that on me, (unless I don't find out)

They've already angered me once, just last week. I don't need them to make it any worse at the moment.

Cheers, Simon

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Mine's overdue by time but not by kays. I called Maddington twice now... they were busy so reception took my details and emailed them to call me back. I'm still waiting.

What a shit-show...

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

^^ Good advice there - a 1kg extinguisher fits snugly when inserted under the back seats from the door side, handle conveniently placed for easy retrieval.

For $20 at bunnings there's no excuse really

Re: Servicing jeep in perth

Good luck directing it into the engine bay if an errant oily rag goes up... there isn't much in the way of access.

That doesn't sound good at all. the guys there have always been really helpful towards me and very accomodating.
Might be worth calling the service manager there as he has helped me a great deal in the past.
