Shudder

Has anyone experience a shudder when sitting idle, I notice when I leave work and get to the first set of lights so with 30 seconds to minute of starting the car it does like a funny little shudder, once I am up and running and even when I stop at the next set of lights nothing.

Re: Shudder

Yes, I have had this happen 4 or 5 times now. Twice it was that bad the whole car was shaking. Turn off and started again and all good.
Had the usual dealer response of "never heard of that happening".

Re: Shudder

I get a slight shuddering/surging on gear changes under normal driving. Only happens occasionally and varies in intensity. Not sure if its coming from the engine or the gearbox but only happens during up changes during normal driving or accelerating normally from a set of lights.

I am assuming your shudders while idling?

Dealer could not replicate the issue with mine so no fix. As per usual get in the car after service and it does it on the way home :|

Shudder

Mine is at idle, say at a set of lights just after the car has been started. Once I am up and running I have never felt it though.

Yep, I've had this on idle. When sitting in queue's at drive thru's and traffic lights. Annoying but not concerning. - Comes and goes.

Re: Shudder

I noticed this the other day. Shook the whole car. happened after first start in the morning, drove it for a bit and it didnt return. Havent noticed it again. But i remember somewhere reading that these engines need a bit of a bootful from time to time. I tend to drive quite sedately. So lately every now and them ive been putting the boot in, get some revs through it. Havent noticed it again but far to early to tell if my change in driving habit has contributed

Re: Shudder

Not sure if its the same but today coming to a stop at a set lights the car shook so much I though it was going to stall, lasted for about 5 second and rocked the car pretty good. This was after driving for 20min so the engine would have been at operating temp.

Recently had the the 40000kms service done, so whatever they did has stuffed it.......

Other things I have notice since the service is very harsh gear changes when not at operating temp and the radiator fans coming on at random times and staying on at full blast for a very long time, even when the engine is not at operating temp.

Re: Shudder

XT, I also have the fan issue, it is a issue that happened post the recall update for the transmission, they are aware of it and working on a fix. The shudder I have had but not as bad as you subscribe and mine has always been close to start up ie just around the corner from home or work.

Re: Shudder

I get a shudder as I approach the Jeep dealer, but other than that, my '15 GC diesel with 35,xxx k's doesn't have any shudder.

Xtrmn8, I've had rough up/downshifts since day one, have all the latest updates including the fan roar special. The fix for the roar has been delayed but should be ready in Dec, I may be going back in then (and experience the shudder) IF they have the new half shaft mine needs, it's ex USA...
