Re: Snatch Strap Kit recommendations for the GC?

After sunday I can highly recommend the 4wd training. With the std 20in wheels and std tyres I was amazed where it went. One section at the end there way no way I would ever attempt it and it made it up there with minimal issues.

I think Stockton is closed now isnt it?

No - Stockton is still open, although only the beach front from Anna Bay to Lavis Lane.

Re: Snatch Strap Kit recommendations for the GC?

It's just down the road. I'll do some checking on the current status and advise.
Lots of 4x4 were still driving down along the Birubi beach the other day when we were there with the dog.

nice. I paid $129 for the Thumper and $179 for the complete recovery kit.
You did well

Tried the thumper out last sunday and it works very quick. Gets hot on the hose end closest to the machine but no big deal.

Re: Snatch Strap Kit recommendations for the GC?

Yep, thought the total price to the door was good so pushed the button.
Not sure how long it will take to get here, but the jeep is in Fiji on holiday so no hurry yet.
Thanks for your info on the compressor. :-)

Re: Snatch Strap Kit recommendations for the GC?

That kit is amazing value, but is kind of odd in its configuration.

- The snatch block is for wire rope, so unless you have a winch...
- The extension strap is technically intended for winching also. They do make a good tow strap for vehicles without "snatch capable" attachment points as they do not multiply force. However they do NOT make a suitable extension for a snatch strap. This is important as the name sort of implies that they do.

The guys who have done training will know this, but I just wanted to make mention in context with the kit.

Again, it is mega value... especially with the receiver adaptor included.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Snatch Strap Kit recommendations for the GC?

Yep. I made mention of it above.
The thing is that if I get stuck and am either traveling with another who has a winch or if someone comes along I would rather use my own equipment then the kind person helping out.
Price wise for the complete pack it just was easy
