Thanks - I have a black with sound confirmed - due in December - but I would prefer a Vapour (have been told they will not be here till next year) and would be happier with an Alpine over my standard black if I could get my hands on one.. Just want some ammunition to discuss with my dealer - who has said there may be some Alpines in the December shipment but he cannot place an order for one as yet - fo some "Jeep" reason.
Was speaking with a dealer today about looking at numbers for a vapour, do you mind me asking what you are paying for the black ? Trying to make sure I don't pay too much.
Cheers Beggsy
Dealers are reluctant to give deals on cars being specially ordered for customers - so I imagine you will pay a premium if you order a vapour now - did dealer say when he thought they would be available?
I can recommend a guy called Mr Negotiator - he got me a price of $87K on road in Sydney for a pano roof model (though none are available at the moment it seems - but what I asked for a price on) Vapour are only $500 more apparrently? - so you should be looking at $87500 on road apart from whatever premium they are hoping for - what were you quoted?.. I will let you ring him to see what he can currently get for you - he just has lots of contacts and asks around for the lowest deal his contacts will offer - and brings it back to you - within 24hrs - doesnt cost you a cent - he gets a commission - which you dont see - for bringing the dealer the business. His website - www.mrnegotiator.com.au - PM me if you like to get more info...............
Thought I saw an Alpine at Sunco Jeep (Sunny Coast) this morning. (pretty sure it was an Alpine, black rims, red calipers....). It was on the forecourt for sale.
Order banks have closed for the 2013 model year. Order banks for 2014 models will open in January for North America. Don't have the order open date pegged for export models, but I assume in the Jan-Feb time frame.
This completes the triangle of Australia's love affair with V8 special vehicles, Holden Special Vehicles Holden Special Vehicles: Performance Cars Australia: HSV , Ford Performance Vehicles Ford Performance Vehicles | FPV and now Chrysler with the SRT8. The SRT8 is fully imported whereas HSV and FPV are locally produced but largely derived from their US parent GM and Ford respectively.
Has anyone else who has taken delivery of their STR8 noticed a few things missing - like the remote start?? Also notice their is a wired camera at the front of the vehicle but no option to use it??
'But it’s the remote start that is arguably the SRT8’s show-stopping feature. It allows you to start the engine and activate various comfort settings from the key fob, while maintaining vehicle security.'

That article is a test-drive of the US version. Don't think we get remote start here. The "front camera" is the RADAR for the adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning.
