Hello to all.

The dealer who we recently bought our Overland from in Perth has advised that the order books are OPEN now for the SRT8 for a July delivery.

They are quoting 90k on the road.

I suspect that their timing maybe a little optimistic. What are others being quoted in regard to delivery time?

I wonder what the demand will be for them, I expect they will sell very quickly.
At half the cost of a X5M/ML63 you are getting a lot of car for a good price.
I bet the price ends up being closer to $100k

The email from the dealer was "On the road", however I tend to agree with Enforcer that circa 100k on the road is probably closer to the mark, particularly after one or two options.

Milous, just wondering how you know that 40 were built? We have asked our dealer to confirm this and they won't they only say it is June delivery. Obviously they would be aware if one of they have been built and if one built has been allocated to us.

Swampy, which dealer was that? We placed an order in November signed OTP for $90k drive away and now have been informed by another dealer 86k driveaway!

Best thing to do is become a paid member then Milous can track an order.
Milous offers this service to paid members to keep this forum open.
If your dealer has not put your name to an order it is hard for him to find it.
We have this problem in AUS were dealers blanket order and not put customer names to orders, or just hope Chrysler orders on in the spec they need and by luck it matches the customers needs.
Most have to really hassle the dealer to get their order number AUS (VON for USA).
Even call Chrysler in Melbourne with your details and complain normally gets the dealer of his behind and do the order properly and allocate it to the customer and get you a order number (7 digit E number).
Dealers here in AUS are lazy

Thing is that the specs on the SRT8 is pretty straight forward - exterior colour, dual pane sunroof and or rear dvd screen.
The dealer guaranteed we were the first to pay a proper deposit and sign the OTP and he has put down our specs of Black on Black with sunrood no dvd screen and we will have it when Chrysler set a release date.
All they keep saying is June, they won't give us a straight answer when asked if our vehicle has gone into production.

yep, same story most grand cherokee orders down here.
Just have a look around the forum most have the same complaint.
I was one of the first to order an Overland and went through what your are going through now.

Well my sales manager confirms that two are arriving at their dealership for the launch in June and one is ours (finally some fixed information).

They keep asking if we want out of the deal and no pressure and we can have our deposit back but we do actually want the car otherwise we wouldn't have ordered one!

I was considering canceling my CRD order at one stage, but knowing that it wouldn't bother the dealer in the least and that they could sell it easily for more than what I'm paying, made me hang in there... :)

It looks like 2 of them are on the Talisman, due to be offloaded tomorrow in Port Kembla.
If they are not going to release them until June, I wonder where they will be stored?
Also, with the delivery that advanced, it looks like Chrysler Australia are still trying to access the market place to see how much they can charge for these cars.

I have a Black one on order to Perth. I bought mine from the Northern Suburbs and paid a solid deposit up front.

Im annoyed that the dealer cant give me an indication other than a June delivery every time I ask.

He also cannot provide an order number etc so that I can track it.

Thanks however for the information above. It has rested my fears that they perhaps stuffed up my order.

Cannot wait to take delivery and see one in the flesh let alone hear one.
