Re: SRT8 Order Book is Open

Different strokes for different folks.
Porsche went the same way with the Cayenne. Or was that the "Opposite way"? They don't appear to be regretting it.
The 911 owners probably turn in their sleep wondering why there is a need for an offroad version.

I would try to explain, but based on your statements I don't think you would be smart enough to understand.

What does Jeep stand for ?
Car makers need to seize the opportunity to sell their product to a wide range of owners. I myself would have an SRT8 over any other Jeep as I do not go offroad, but want a fast car with a high driving position. This might be a small market, but it suits me. I do not want to spend over a $100k on a Porsche, merc or BMW.
Personally I am glad that Jeep are importing this unique car here for our small market.

Re: SRT8 Order Book is Open

Most people have had to wait 5 months for their CRD's as the wait list is out to October now.
If I was ordering a SRT8, I would wait for it, I think it will be very worth it. I am going to wait for the 2014 build, that is over 20 months.....

Difference is you are choosing to wait. We haven't had that choice only some empty promises.

Re: SRT8 Order Book is Open

I waited nearly 9 months for mine.

Considering the SRT8 gets nearly the same fuel economy as the overland V8 I would have gone down that path. Best of both worlds, toy and 4WD to meet mine entrance regs.

It should be a lot less than 20 months, being that U.S. production starts in less than 8 months.

Milous, We know that US production starts soon. The problem is that it is taking almost a year for the Australian branch to get them on the road here.
They would rather ship them here, store them out of sight for 4months, then announce they have them. They won't even announce a price.
They are more interested in blowing their own trumpet, than actually selling cars to those who have already ordered them.
By the time the cars reach their owners, they will already have been superseded by newer models.
