Re: Swap Mygig RB2 for RHP or REP Nav unit?

Yep I can confirm that the RHP unit has the faceplate with the screw holes on the top and bottom, this should fit.

Just worried that the current wiring with the RB2 will be insufficient and I will need to buy additional wiring at more cost and time.

Like you said SOX that I might need a other wiring cable, I can't seem to find any parts that I may need.

Re: Swap Mygig RB2 for RHP or REP Nav unit?

Thank you so much SOX, that information was exactly what I was looking for.
So all up I'm looking at about $1150 installed and flashed, the dealer quoted me $3500.

Hopefully I can then sell the RB2 for $300 making the Nav upgrade great value.

EDIT: I have the auto dimming rear view mirror? Someone a challenger forum have said then the harness I will need is part number 82211868

Is this correct or does it not apply in my case?

Thanks again.

Re: Swap Mygig RB2 for RHP or REP Nav unit?

Just remember, the Nav unit in the Jeep is rubbish, due to the way it routes destinations. It shows the roads, but sometimes if that road has not been "verified" it will pretend it does not exist and take you klms out of your way..

I'm probably better off getting the iPad mini wifi with a standalone nav app with pre loaded maps. Im thinking the iPad might be a little cumbersome strapped to the dash.
This wasn't my idea.....but it works great for us. See VMS 4x4 GPS units
The ipad is very handy travelling (hot spotted to the phone from time to time for internet access) and the big screen for navigation is brilliant from the drivers view as it takes only a split second to glance and orient.
We've travelled about 5000k with it sitting on non slip mat on the console (doesn't budge) and my wife just picks it up to play from time to time or put under the seat when we stop.
The gps is built in the 3g n wifi models and we don't run a sim card so all the navigation is off line and the maps in memory.
The app we use is Mudmaps HD which comes with a package of on and off road maps.
So far we are more than happy with the maps and the way the app works, the gps has never lost signal in this location and accuracy when we check from time to time is between 5 and 10m.
No voice guidance turn by turn or other bells and whistles that a nav unit will provide though.
Likely there are other tablet options out there.

He hasn't. It just rests on that non slip mat.
