Re: The Towing thread

Sand was easy at Fraser, I did have my 18s on but the 20s would be fine.

Nah.....they're just P rated ones.

Yeah, I'll contemplate it a bit more before I go, got plenty of time.
I'm going with a mate and his family, he'll have a 150 Prado (can't help bad luck..hehe) on BFG AT's

Re: The Towing thread

Knowing Fraser that time of year I would go 18's. Out of interest a 275/45 is a smaller rolling diameter that the std 265/50. If u want a good 20 size I run 275/55/20 gives a bit more height in the sidewalls for those beach runs. I wouldn't be letting a 275/45 down to far.

Mate its a jeep on a beach not a real 4x4. Why you think 18s will be better is beyond me. 20s have never stopped me

When people ask for advice on a forum I give feedback based on actual experience, if I have no knowledge of what they are asking I don't just shoot from the hip, now given that it is Fraser Island and given that it is the middle of summer and the sand can be quite powdery I have had Tyres down to 14 in the past to explore certain parts of the island. I would not be running a 275/45/20 tyre a 14 psi nor would it bag much anyhow. Hence my reason to give sound advice and run the 18's.

Re: The Towing thread

Im am also only one to give sound first hand advise from experience i think the 20s are more than capable in that situation as others have also said. Something the op will decide when the time comes choosing his tires of which a more suiting to his trip as a whole. Not just a few days worth.

Re: The Towing thread

Funny how others also say 20s will be fine yet you lay off them!! Hes driving a jeep not a nissan or a toyota. 18 or 20s on the beach aren't going to be chalk and cheese. Now if he was going real offroad it would be a different story wouldnt it. Why do you choose to bust my balls when i answer with experience and not others? Maybe im correct hey..
