I suggest that if you have an Anderson plug fitted that you check it's operation
Stuch, did the dealership fix this for you or did you have your own auto electrician do the work? The reason I ask is that I have ordered an Anderson plug (as well, as towbar and brake controller) to be dealer fitted in my 2014 CRD Laredo when it arrives and from the photo in your posts, I reckon you and I use the same dealer!

Does anyone have a photo of this towbar fitted to the GC?
Also, does it come with a hitch plug like this: Jeep Hitch Receiver Plug - 1 1/4 Inch and 2 Inch Jeep Hitch Cover Plug - Item # 82208453AB and # 82208457

Thanks
Not sure if this helps but here's a shot I got of one whilst driving a couple of weeks ago.

Anderson plug was fitted by an auto electrician employed by the dealer. They got it wrong the first 2 times. The tow bar is the mopar genuine product. Photos attached showing set out and Anderson plug on the right.

What is the height of the hitch receiver opening (bottom face) above road level in normal ride height?

I'm trying to compare to my current vehicle as I want to get a WDH now and want to get a hitch that suits my current vehicle and also my new Jeep Laredo (with QL) when it arrives later in the year.

Thanks.

Graham

350mm to base of tow ball and 385mm to centreline of ball housing.
For what it is worth I have transferred my HR WDH from the Prado and there was no need to change anything so far.

Thanks Stuch. Looks like a neat job. Hopefully the auto electrician that they employ has learned his lesson. Thanks for pioneering the way! I'm thinking that I'll fit poly air bags to the rear of my jeep (I don't have QL). I installed them on my current tow vehicle (NM Pajero) and have found them to do a great job at levelling my van and horse trailer when towing.

Graham, It is hard to make out where the Anderson Plus is in that image. Have they piggy backed the Anderson Plug off the 12 pin plug, to the right of it?

Allypally, those photos were by Stuch - I haven't got my Jeep yet.

Anderson plug is on far right with main plug adjacent to tow bar

Thanks Stuch. I have a Hitchmaster hitch so no towball and the Prado has a 50mm lift. Do you have the height of the 50x50 receiver opening as that is determined by the car. The towball height is determined by the van.

Thanks.

Graham

The centre line of the receiver is 385mm above ground

Storm, maybe do a bit of checking.....as far as I know the CRD's with steel suspension we get in Australia are fitted with self levelling shock absorbers in the rear. Well, that used to be the case before the 2014....
I did see one post (i think it was over on the Australian caravaners forum), where an owner had imported air bags from the US and fitted them to his WK2 quite happily.
