Looks great

How long is it and is it 3 Tonne with water and gas. Do you mind telling us the name of that Palace on wheels.

My van loaded puts 270kg on the ball - by weigh bridge figures.
Our Jeep and van combination has now clocked around 30,000k of towing over all sorts of surfaces, always with the WDH fitted unless we are slow moving on deep undulating tracks, in which case I drop it off due to the extreme forces that can be generated.
I've had nil issues with the QL - Jeep say to use one, and I'm well aware of the laws of physics and have had towed various vans over the last 40 years. No question of whether to use one for me. A bonus with the Jeep is when camped for an overnighter I regularly level fore and aft by raising or lowering the suspension.

You didn't state who "they" were of the opinion that use of a WDH would confuse the QL computer on the Jeep. Hopefully it didn't come from the same person you are dealing with on the van order…..
Hi John

I really respect your 40 years of experience and this may save me some heartache and equip me with the correct questions to ask and tell them where they are wrong.

Thanks heaps

Just a quick question, we're they able to to use same wheels as the jeep. I was told by Spinifex that the hub and wheel centers are larger to accommodate disc brakes which fit Land Cruiser which would be great to share spares.

What Spinifex said is consistent with KK. I had to forgo disc brakes on my KK CT because I wanted a hub that took the Jeep wheel. But that wasn't all, when they went to fit the wheels, the hub bore diameter was too small so I also had to go from 2t bearings to the lower rated Ford slimline bearings. They are still more than adequate for the GVM but it would have been nice to have had the added safety factor. It's a shame that trailer axle manufactures still live in the dark ages.

The 3T is the unloaded weight. Water will add another 200Kg.
It was built by Beyond as a custom caravan to my specs.

The trailer manufacturer said they could not accommodate the Jeep wheels.

The GC pulls it nicely. You do know that you have a load behind you though.
