If your sensors are deactivated by plugging in the trailer, opening the cover will not deactivate them. The socket on the car has a reed switch that depends on a magnet in the male trailer plug to disable the sensors.

Hi Jarse

Thanks for your reply I thought on a previous post someone said magnet was in lid. Now to work out how to fix 7inch monitor on right hand side dash

Re: The Towing thread

Just returned from a week's holiday in Toncurry. Really relaxing by the water.

Also, can confirm the reverse sensors are NOT deactivated when towing. However, I have a switch on the dash, below the screen, which appears to deactivate the sensors. never really tried it.
I also use a 4 camera system on my van, and monitor it with a 7" monitor on the dash. No problem with it touching the dash.

Also, with 3.5 tonne on the back, my fuel consumption was 14.8 L/100. Tansmission temp sat around 92C and Transmission temp around 76-82C

I will now be talking to service to install the correct wiring. Am I correct in thinking that sensors should turn off. Thanks for any thoughts and help on this. Cheers
There is a switch on the dash to turn off the front and back sensors

The reversing sensor isolation is a functionality you paid for so it's right to expect it to work. However, think about trucks, by law, they have to beep when reversing and loud too. Just imagine you are driving a truck.

Re: The Towing thread

Has anyone else not been able to get their tow bar supplied/fitted due to supply issues? I got my car 7 weeks ago, and at the time of delivery there was no towbars, and there haven't been any towbars since?? Should I look elsewhere?

Re: The Towing thread

My tow bar was fitted when delivered mid November but they cut off one of the lugs for the safety chains to fit the 7 pin large round plug. A new tow bar was fitted last week. Didn't seem to be any supply problems.
