Thule roof rack fitting

I finally decided to fit my thule Aero bars to my WK2. I have the 753 foot pack but no way is it suitable (my config) for the tracks. Do I need something like this which is recommended (4019 Fixpoint XT) when I go through car selection on the thule US site?

I purchased the 753's second hand and not sure if they had additional fixing attachments?

Kit 4019 Fixpoint XT - Thule

Re: Thule roof rack fitting

I can't remember the numbers but I'm sure they are 753 with the 4019 fit kit. That attachment doesn't look right. Here a few photos of mine, which fit fine. Hope this helps.

Ps when tightening the feet try to keep them as perpendicular to the rails as possible. You will get a better grab and it is easier to put the locking covers on.

Sorry another photo can't be bothered going to my PC to make them smaller or trying to remember my details on Flickr

it's the 4019, but not the fix point it's called thule fit kit kit4019

choose flush rails, aeroblade, rapid podium foot pack through the fit guide and you should get what you want

Re: Thule roof rack fitting

How would you go with these in a car wash? Would they hold alright?

Re: Thule roof rack fitting

I wouldn't advise it... Some members would chastise you for even considering a car wash... With or without racks.....

LOL, yes I know about "not" using a carwash. Although the one I use now is pretty good, for a carwash that is.

it's fine with the bars... I do an express everytime I go skiing, I do remove the racks/box though, but the crossbars haven't been a problem

Re: Thule roof rack fitting

You may have sorted this out already but the correct Thule footpack to use with the 4019 fit kit for the WK2 and aeroblades is the Podium 460R, if you can find a set (the 460/460R and 4019 fit kit is now obsolete).
