What does ORA group on Overland come with?

Hey, I have a new diesel Overland, I would have liked to get the ORA but wasn't prepared to wait. Just wanted to check if anyone can confirm the differences, my understanding is it's the 18" wheels and skid plates?

The overland in Aus has much of these standard, the only additions the ORA makes to an overland is:

- 18-Inch x 8.0-Inch Polished Aluminum Wheels
- Front Suspension Skid Plate
- Fuel Tank Skid Plate Shield
- P265/60R18 BSW AS On/Off-Road Tires
- Transfer Case Skid Plate
- Selec-Speed™ Control (This only recently became available on diesels, April build onwards I think)

Re: What does ORA group on Overland come with?

The biggest issues are the Quadradrive and the ELSD. These cannot be retrofitted, whereas the wheels and skid plates are simple to do.

However for clarity, the poster's AU spec MY14 Overland comes with these as standard equipment. Benno's list covers item by item it in this context.

I didn't know about the recent Selec-Speed addition being tied to ORA. That could make it worth considering.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey Benno, this is what I thought but a sales guy at Ipswich tried to tell me that it included different axels and diff ratio. I told him I thought the Overland had the same diff etc but he told me I was wrong.

I left it at that but couldn't find anything on the jeep site to dispute it because they didn't give enough details on the option.

Re: What does ORA group on Overland come with?

Unfortunately most Jeep sales guys don't know their arse from their elbow. Overlands come with the QDII standard, which is the ELSD rear diff.

I had a young sales guy tell me I couldn't get QDII optioned on a limited, and had to buy an overland if I wanted it.....

Hill descent is already included, selec-speed just adds ascent speed control. I can't see the point myself, just put it in low range if you want control up hill.

Re: What does ORA group on Overland come with?

Yeah that's true Benno, and I just use low first and the brakes when I go down hills...

I must be old fashioned like that?

Re: What does ORA group on Overland come with?

I got ORA2 on my limited and there wasn't any trail rated badge, I was a bit disappointed. I haven't seen any TR badges on any MY14's.

I've never seen one on an Australian Jeep.
