wk2 Australian mopar tow bar install :(

What an evil experience that install was. started at 7pm - finished at 3am

no plug - you have to splice the wires

Bumpers is a @#$@# tp get off (broke one clip)

removing the inside side panel to get to the loom i cracked that (even being super careful)

instructions weren't great.

but it is a good bit of gear.

Unless you like busted knuckles and cut hands - get the dealer to do it (although at least i know my stuff ups - sure the dealer makes them too but they are hidden.

Re: wk2 Australian mopar tow bar install :(

I am very handy with tools, but I read about what was required to install the TB on the GC, so I paid the dealer $500 to install mine. They did a great job and it looks fine.
Sorry to hear about your experience, but then I have read the same thing form the others who tried to install it themselves.

The 14's must have changed a bit since I did my 12, took me no more than 2 hours.

Cheers

Took your advice there and am having the dealer do it! Life's too short to be skinning knuckles!

Re: wk2 Australian mopar tow bar install :(

There was no issue with splicing using the older loom. It was plug-n-play. My biggest problem was that I had backup sensors installed by the dealer. He didn't put in any connectors so I had the bumper cover dangling on the wires. Eventually I got sick of it and cut the wires. I later put in the connectors that should have been there in the first place. Other than that, it was pretty straight forward I thought.

Re: wk2 Australian mopar tow bar install :(

I didn't find it so bad, but I went into it with the intention of doing it nice and slow.

There's only one kind of work I start after 7pm... usually around 10pm or so

Re: wk2 Australian mopar tow bar install :(

Best thing to do is make sure you want a tow bar before you purchase the Car.
Them have them include it in the price
