Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

Nothing spotted ...

I did ask at ARB stand, but no new info. TJM told me they had no plans.

The guys at Roof Rack City mentioned that there will be mounts for the Rhino Rack Pioneer alloy platforms and trays in July.

Some absolutely mind boggling caravans and camper trailers though.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I got a similar, but less positive comment from ARB.
They stated there was no demand for a WK2 bullbar or Nudgebar and that there would need to be lots of requests made for them to manufacture one.
There were literally 100's of camping trailers, some very expensive, as well as the 100's of caravans suiting all wallet sizes.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

it is like every person at ARB has a different opinion on the WK2 bull bar.
When I spoke to them here in WA it was no way they would consider it.
Then the local agent last year around November spoke to his contact in Melbourne and it was in testing, maybe the 2012 tow hook saga has put them off.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I think whoever says that ARB wouldnt consider it, would be a serious Toyota/Nissan bigot.

The fact is that ARB sold bullbars for the previous GC both here and in the US, and the WK2 GC is setting sales records for Jeep. ARB are on record as saying that they will have one due to the volume of interest. It's just a matter of time.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I don't know why is ARB so against it. They haven't designed a new bar in 15+ years. All they need to do is engineer the mounts and fabricate cut out moulds to fit....

All you ARB snobs - take a serious look at the ECB Bar - I have never liked them in the past (on any vehicle) but IMHO they got it right with the WK2.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I suspect this might have been the ECB bullbar after all.

ECB says that it is available in black ripple coat, silver ripple coat and silver hammertone, as well as the mirror polish finish.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

You never know what ARB will do. I hit them up for a sahara bar for my Colorado and they told me they would never make it because there wasn't enough demand and they upgrade their looks too often to justify making all the bars for all models.. Then guess what?? Yep, they made the sahara bar not long after I sold my ute... LOL, ah well..

News from ARB a couple of days ago on the WK2 bullbar.

Hi Correy, thanks for the nice feedback on the Rosehill show. The Grand Cherokee bar is currently being crash beam tested and design is in the final stages. The bar will incorporate provision for factory sensors and the radar. At this stage, nothing is in the pipeline for a rear bar and rear bar tyre carrier.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I've only seen the ECB bar on their site and it seems to really take the look away from being a luxury SUV to more of a SUV with an afterthought shoved on the front..

I dunno how the alloy would hold up if u shoved a roo..

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I ordered a black ECB bar at the Perth show to go with the Black Laredo. Meant to take two weeks from order. Arrived after three and it was silver. Now waiting for a black one in another 20 working days. As far as the strength goes the ECB guys reckon that their bars are much thicker than steel bars so that in the end they are just as strong.
