Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I tend to agree, it is not "brilliant" in the appearance. But... it at least has been delivered. Not sure on the asking price as yet.
It does not appear to have room for the parking sensors and it will be interesting to see if the FCW works.

The Uneek bar is designed to work with front park sensors, the vehicle pictured is a Laredo so does not have park sensors.

All bull bars change the look of the front of the vehicle, at least Uneek have involved WK2 owners and we know what the bar looks like so you can decide weather it's your cup of tea or not, ARB are still treating us like mushrooms, the only other option is the ECB bar and that looks like it came straight off a Mack truck IMHO .
I personally like the Uneek bar so I have bought one, if you don't like it that's cool, but at least some one in the accessories game is listening to WK2 owners and producing products.

Don't think the uneek bar will stop a kangaroo.

Why would it not stop a roo?, why would it do any worse than any other bar?

Roo would go through the big hoops in the front.

Hit plenty with my ARB on the WJ.

I don't think it would go through, most are going to hit the lower bumper section, any that are so tall they will miss the lower bumper section are going to flip up onto the bonnet, there is a small chance a smaller roo might hop just right to go between the bumper section and the top hoop, but you would have to be unlucky, and I don't think this would be any more likely for the Uneek bar than any other bar, I hit my fair share up here in the top end, and I can't remember any that didn't hit the bumper section, maybe I've just been lucky ;-/

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

I dont think any bar is completely roo proof. They are designed to prevent minor damage, and one can only hope a roo, or any other obstacle makes contact with the reinforced portion only.

Re: WK2 Bullbar spotted in Sydney

Whilst I appreciate the work that has gone into the design and production of the uneek bar, I agree with deserthucker about the space in the hoops, I too have had my fair share of animal strikes over this way and have suffered damage where parts of the animal has gone through the bar work, but as stated earlier we aren't spoilt for choice when it comes to the wk2 so each to there own, we all access our risks and decide accordingly

I agree that it doesn't enhance the Jeep as such but it doesn't disguise the Jeep either as the ECB one tends to do with the large diameter aluminium tubing. The Uneek bar at least tries to follow the Jeep's lines but I think it could have been styled a little better. Anyway, for me, I'm favouring the plain bumper without the loop bars so breaking the Jeep's lines is not such an issue.

BTW, I asked Uneek how heavy it was. They estimate about 50kg. I presume that is with the full loop bars.

I have a feeling the ARB bar is not too far away. The Jeep market in the States is huge. ARB already have a strong presence in the States and they the way the Aussie dollar has dropped and headed down further, ARB must be licking their lips. Let's hope they keep some bars back for us.

Could only hope they will develop one to fit the 2011 chassis. As I believe the US still has the 2011 chassis.

That's what I was thinking too.
