I spoke to a dealer about your's and the concensus was that it most likely was damaged during shipping, and required repairs. The dealer said it may have been something simple like a broken mirror, and they had to wait for parts. He was telling me of a GC that was damaged because the tie down ropes on the freight truck had cut through a wiring loom.
Generally speaking all cars from a ship generally leave the Prix Cars yard within a few days of each other, unless there isan issue with that car. Then they will most likely wait until other cars are ready to be shipped to your area to save the freighting cost.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yeah, that's pretty much what we thought too, but as usual there was no way we were gonna get the truth from the dealer so we just checked everything out when we picked it up to make sure all was sweet. And as you say then they would have waited until they could fill a car carrier to save sending a truck to pick up just one car.

Late to look but my map version is A 1112 4.2.1 which still seams out of date.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Just gave my Salesman a call.

I asked him about the timeline once the car arrives on the 5th.

He mentioned that it should be ready for delivery on the 12th. I hope this is the case, advised him that I am going to Sydney on the 14th (actually 16th) and he was like yeah, shouldn't be a problem.

Now hopefully there have been no issues, and I'll be able to take delivery on the 12th.

If they deliver it on the 12th it will be exactly 7 months (214 days) from date of order to date of delivery. It's been soooo long. Hopefully no more delays.

Hope all goes well with the delivery. Dont forget to look absolutely spellbound if the fuel tank is less than full.

I got the sales guy to write on the sales contract "full tank of fuel"
90l of diesel is not as cheap as it used to be....

Haha, after spending 70k+ on a car, $150 of fuel is quite trivial. Also I like to choose my 98RON (usually V-Power) rather than use the dealer's Sh!tty 91RON. Especially for my first 100 kms, I'd rather have 98.

I'm assuming that the hemi works nicely with 98ron? My 300c 5.7 used to love 98, hated 95/91

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yeah, the $150 in fuel is not the major price component but I couldn't let the sales guy get away that easily after he declined my latest attempt to knock off some more $$

And then I'm with Paul Kelly on this... "From Little Things Big Things Grow"

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Found out today that our vehicle is in PD getting towbar, side steps and tint.

Should have it on Friday.

Hard not to get a little excited.
