Re: WK2 DownUnder

And also.. if our car was damaged on the boat, do the dealers have an obligation to tell us that it was damaged and what was broken?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Mine arrived at the dealership tuesday am last week. Now it got off three days before the port kembla drop. Allow 1 day for transport from port to compliance depot (i believe Qld's is at port). Allow another day for a busier compliance centre and busy time of year. I'd be thinking Tuesday dealership arrival would be reasonable (seed issues and damage aside).

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The way it has been presented to me if that it will be fixed before it is even accepted by the dealer. Either way I'm not sure, will have to look at the contract.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Either way, if it has been damaged i would like to know how and be able to see the repair etc

Mendo - Problem is though if its thursday dealer arrival, if you made a bank payment to them on thursday it probably wouldnt clear by friday arvo, and then its weekend and xmas, so the dealer may not get the money until after xmas, so cant pick up car until after xmas. Although saying that, i am going away till start of January anyway so i dont care too much.

Bank Cheque is normally better than a bank payment, at least it is instantaneous (doesn't usually require clearing, as banks are reliable lol).

I'm paying by Credit Card, so even better, in total I'm making 45000 Qantas points out of it (will be a free trip to Perth haha). yay

I always thought there where weird rules with credit cards and car buying, maybe im imaging it though, might try bank cheque.

Although i dont know if you are right about the banks being reliable haha, but i think if it gets here on friday or thursday i might just hold off and pick it up when i get back at start of January, save 2 weeks of insurance and all that crap

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have thought about.. Is the dealer happy with this? Any surcharge? Also did you have to positively load accredit chard? Unless you have one credit limit...

AFAIK, bank cheques with car dealers don't require clearing times.

I've already sorted my insurance, so I'm not too fussed. If I get it this week, fine, if I don't, I'll get it in the new year.

Dealer wasn't too happy, but I made it a firm condition and it cost me an extra $350 (for the whole changeover price on AMEX), so I'm happy to pay the extra amount for the points.

I don't have a big enough limit to cover the whole cost, so I've loaded my CC with monies through BPAY. (The surcharge was just over 1.17%).

Finally I had a win. While still waiting for my GC diesel to arrive and excited at the fact I ordered the all the bits and pieces, I pointed out quite a while ago that the brochure stated the off road pack comes with AT tires, well it does now. Yokohama Geolander ATS AT. Took some fighting, negotiating but I got there ..

Well done. Was that deal negotiated with your dealer or does ORII actually now deliver with real AT tyres?
How are you approaching the tow hook issue?
(I'm waiting on a January expect True Blue Limited w/ QL and ORII)

Did the deal with the dealer, them and jeep have been talking.

And the tow hook issue, is there an issue?

Where's yours being delivered too?

Just send them an email letting them know what model you have and what colour and they'll sort you out. They were pretty good to deal with
