Still no car was told yesterday that there has been no update so next guess is mid next week.

There may be a small upside in that if it drags out a bit longer the compliance plate might be 2012. Maybe a few extra dollars at the far end......

I saw a nice new CRD yesterday in the blackberry pearl colour at Mt Tambourine - at certain angles in the sunlight it flashed blue flecks - very pretty.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I think the compliance plate would already be completed once it reaches Australian soil. But I'm not sure how it works?

I understood the plate is made up to suit the vehicle and fixed by the importer agent when the vehicle is processed after landing. There might be a few in the yard sitting there until people come back after new year....
Probably not something that can be influenced now but was just an idea to help cheer you up!

We took delivery of our new Overland CRD in early August 2011 and as at Dec 12th it has spent a total of 17 days in the dealership attempting to solve an intermittent "non starting" issue. Currently has only 6000km on the clock. On December 12th, it went back in to have a new key recognition and starting protocol module fitted - end result completely dead Jeep. Parts required to "hopefully" get it going again, are not due in NZ until 10th Jan 2012 leaving us without a caravan tug for our planned Christmas break. I am with the help of my lawyer attempting to get my money back when I will seriously reconsider my options.

Having previously owned a new 2005 WH Limited CRD and then a 2008 WH Overland CRD, I am a reasonably committed and loyal Jeep owner. However, at this stage a V6 TD VW Touareg is starting to look like a more reliable option.

New Zealand source all their Jeep stock from Jeep Australia and is distributed here by Sime Darby, a luxury brand importer / distributor.

I have currently been given a 2003 BMW X5 3.0 petrol with 130000km as a temporary loan vehicle, and it is not rated to tow the van. It is also the thirstiest vehicle I have ever driven. Daily use around 17 - 18 lt / 100km.

My main frustration is that Chrysler / Jeep do not have a stock of vital spare parts available. 47 days off the road out of 120 days ownewership is unacceptable.

Cheers Chris
Chris, not good news, it was just a matter of time before a post like this was going to surface down this way.

We've experienced small and expected niggling issues with ours but your extent.

Seems the most common flaw with the WK2 at this stage is "electronic" related. I'd say Jeep's electronic components and suppliers probably need to go through 2-3 QA processes before cars are released.

I remember many years back a frustrated Ford owner who could go no further with the dealer made the news by legally parking his car on the road outside the dealership with a large A-frame sign on the roof with the words THIS CAR IS A LEMON (or similar). I'm pretty sure he got their attention and Ford Aust stepped in. Just an idea if you get sick of banging your head on the wall. 47/120 days.....that's crap.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well our wait For our diesel GC wasn't too long cause we purchased a dealer demo. Picked it up today with rock rails, skid plates, towbar, mats etc in great looking but so impractical black, now to add rack bull bar and a few off road accessories and we can start ticking off a few items from our bucket list. Call brad at bayside Chrysler jeep, I think he has one more demo left!!!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Any updates?

I posted on the Jeep Australia Facebook page, and got a reply within 15 mins to email them about my car.

I sent them the reply on Friday Morning, awaiting a reply now.

It will be interesting to see what they say.

EDIT: Just got a call from my salesman, apparently car will be here this week.

Not holding my breath, but yeh, hopefully should get it soon.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Happy Holidays everyone!
Has anyone need some smash repairs yet? My Overland was worked over by the local hoodlums in Coffs Harbour new years eve.
Kicked the right side doors in and smashed a mirror.
Can anyone recommend a repairer?
