Honest thoughts... a bit anemic... too beigey but that's just me.

Hi There,
I'm in Brisbane.
I notice theres a mention you posted some pics. Any chances of you directing me to where they are stored? EDIT...SCRAP THAT. Found them and Jeez, that is AWESOME. My minds made up, just gotta be sure on the colour of the car. White is sporty and clean, silver..a bit safe but easy to keep clean, mineral probably the most presitgeous, and black..looks great for the first 10 mins here in QLD before the rain spoils it!! But the tan saddle interior is locked in!!!!!

Many thanks.

Glenn.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

You can see both colours on Page 141 and page 143 of this thread.
My view is certain interiors work better with certain exterior colours. It really is the eye of the beholder.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Good to see you have decided to get an awesome car

As for colours, personal opinion but here are my thoughts.
White and Silver - Clean, Safe... but a bit boring.. every car you see these days is pretty much these colours. They are easy to keep clean which is good but just too bland in my opinion.
Black - Great colour, looks damn nice.. BUT.. a bitch to keep clean and will show all scratches etc. In the sun and summer the GC seems to heat up very quickly, black will make this worse as it absorbs all the heat.
Mineral - Nice colour big big fan although still a little boring , was on my list
True Blue - This is what i got and i love it. I know that it will be ahrder to keep clean and attracts heat similar to the black, but it looks awesome. You dont see many in that colour. Well im still yet to know of another one driving round in Aus in True Blue.
Red - Was 2nd on my list, big fan, classy, seen a few around and they look nice, and red is faster usually

Edit: Anyone installed HID Fogs or Headlights yet? I want to get all my head lights white and not have that yellowish colour for driving lights and want to get my fogs a bit brighter

I like your colour choice. Normally I don't like green cars. I used to have a dark green VW and other cars just didn't see me. However, I have this thing that a Jeep just isn't a Jeep unless it's green. So I went for the Black Forest Green. Actually it's basically black with green pearl tinge shining through, similar to the True Blue but green. I thought of the heat issue. If it becomes a problem, I'll get the roof painted white as was the fashion a few decades ago and a option with the current Minis and Audi A1s. I might start a trend .

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Does anyone know if the Aussie Laredos come with the "Trail Rated" badge? I hope so. My build sheet mentions all the badges including the "4x4" but not the "Trail Rated" badge.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Mine didnt come with 'trail rated' badge.

im new to Jeeps so please explain, whats the deal with these badges, i mean i know a lot of people where getting annoyed/upset that their car didnt have that badge. I personally dont need a badge to tell me I can go 4WDing in my car.

Similar note, how can you 'trail rate' a 4wd without front recovery points?

No they dont have the badge, nor could they if they have no means of recovery.

It's just a pose thing. Let's face it, 80% of the GCs sold will be Toorak Cruisers or pretentious school shuttles anyway so we guys need to get our street creds anyway we can. Also, it may help with resale value.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

You can buy the trail rated badge off ebay for $10. Jeep stick them on the overland with 20" road tyres, so it means SFA to the car, just a wank.

You are right, a total wank. If they put one on my car I'll probably take it straight off. So, ebay you say... hmmm!
