It's just a gentle little reminder from Jeep that next time, "Don't hold back!"

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hi Guys,
Has anybody from Qld purchased an unregistered GC interstate and then registered with Qld Transport. I have spoken to a couple of dealers who will provide me a 7 day permit to get the car back home, but don't know the procedure and more importantly the cost of this. Any advice is really appreciated. This is a great forum. Spent a whole day reading every post!!
Sooo exited to be given the go ahead by "she who must be obeyed" to get out of my current rattle box into something so quiet it resembles a library!!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

My guess is you talk to the Transport dept in the State of where you are purchasing the car.
I am sure there are short term permits issued by all States. Most require you to drive a direct route out of the state, and you must do it within a set period.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

when i was looking at buying in VIC and going to NSW, I was told dealer will supply 7 Day permit to get the car home. You will probably need to source a cover note for CTP and Comp insurance as well. Bare in mind they also said since i was going interstate they couldnt include Rego and Stamp duty etc in the price, the car had to be sold with no rego.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

My brother bought his car from Vic and drove it back to NSW. No plates, only a piece of paper form VICRoads. Had no problems with cops or anything. Did the normal rego process in NSW with blue slip, etc. It can be worthwhile, as you do not need to pay stamp duty and rego fees twice.

How do they go for reception. I need one due to the antenna being too high and will get ripped off in my garage. So i need a sharky or somthing similar
We have had our sharkfin on for about 3 months and have not had a single reception issue. I listen to the cricket on AM and the wife listens to the radio on FM without any problems. I would happily recommend this mod as it makes it easier to put stuff on the roof racks. $91 delivered.

This is the little 6" rubber whip antenna on the roof. Many people are replacing this with the sharkfin aftermarket one.
